Ford and Mustang Trivia
The Pace Car for the 05 Indy 500 was not the Mustang, it was again the Corvette. See below:

Second, I could be wrong but I believe what you are looking for is that the Mustang Pace Cars were delivered without outside(side view) mirrors. This was because Mustangs were shipped from the factory with the mirrors uninstalled, inside the car. Because the Pace Cars did not come directly from the factory. Other interesting fact, 3 cars were built for the race but only two drove because the 3rd had mechanical failure.

Sorry you are right about 05. My thoughts were somewhere else. Thanks for the note

Naw thats cool, go ahead. I didn't have anything ready anyway. I think that you were half right. I think up to that point no new model had been featured.

I think you are looking for 'S'. It features a hydraulic camshaft, along with heavy-duty crank, rods, and pistons.
Great article!

No, "S" was one of the engine types (along with "A" and "T"). I'm talking about the actual VIN number on the dash. The usual given 5th engine digit is "Z" for the Boss 429. But for some of the early ones, it was something else.
If I remember correctly (maybe) the early Boss 429s were actually 351 4V Sportroofs. Theses were the ones that were "prototypes" and later sold to the public. I can't remember how many there were. If I'm right about the engine, that means that VIN code is M. ???
