What the heck, I'll SWAG it. Duel Quad 427, 428 Super Cobra Jet, 351 Cleveland 4V? I am probably way off.

Cool, I'm post 600 on this thread.

Actually, very close. 427 Dual Quad (8V) is correct.

428 Cobra Jet is correct (Super Cobra Jet depended on rear end gears, no special engine code). "R" stood for the Ram Air version in 1969-70. All 1968 1/2 Cobra Jets were "R" codes (at least when the engine become available to the public).

the last one - in 1971 was a 351C 4-V, but not just the standard one - it was for the Boss 351.

I'd say you're close enough - your go...

Well what do you know? I was so sure that I was wrong that I didn't even have a question prepared. I'll just shoot from the hip on this one. For the 1979 Pace Car, for farmed out the seats to Recaro. These same seats were also available in the 80-81 Cobras. How many colors were they available in, and what were the colors?

I knew red but I don't believe that I've ever seen a yellow Recaro Mustang seat. If it were anyone else, I might ask for proof. Your up then. BTW, if you have a pic of the yellow seat I would love to get it.

According to this page, the last year was 1983.

http://www.mustangregistry.org/lx_83_84.htm

Amazing that they were still selling them up to then. But then my wife just got a new car that came with a cassette player.

That was my first answer but I knew (hoped!) they couldn't mess up the fox bodies that way, so I changed it!

Here is a site I've used for useful info...http://www.mustanggt.org/gt.htm. However, it doesn't have 8-track information.

OK, a two part question:

(1) What years was a "Windsor" V-8 available in the Mustang.

(2) List the different displacements (CID) of this engine as it was used in the Mustang.

Started with the very first (1964 1/2 [1965]) year- available every year up through 1995 except 1974 (first year of the Mustang II).

Displacements : 260,289,302,351,255

Mr. Greene you are correct.

BigRed you have a good point there, but I should have specified as delivered from Ford.
