No, 2005. 87 was a Fox chassis. 2005 is the first Mustang-only chassis

Mberglo is correct. The S197 chassis was the first Mustang not to share its platform with any other vehicle. If it had not been for the width to the Modular engines, the Mustang would have shared a majority of its chassis with the Lincoln LS. A rundown by year:
1964 thru 1970-Shared with Ford Falcon.
1971 thru 1973-Shared with Torino/Failane.
1974 thru 1978-Shared with Pinto.
1979 thru 2004-Shared with Fairmont, Thunderbird, LTD.

I did not include Mercury and Lincoln products because the list is really long that way. One could argue that 1995 was the first year because the Thunderbird moved to the MN-12 chassis. But this was still a heavily modified Fox chassis, much like the SN-95. I would also have accepted 2000 as an answer, because 1999 was the last year for the Thunderbird, and the Mustang was the only Fox based vehicle left.

Yeah, Yeah, I was thinking the Capri stopped after '86 and I knew there was no Fairmont still around. Kind of forgot about the Tbird/Cougar being Fox bodied.

OK, next question:

What was the first year and engine size that Ford offered a supercharger on as a factory option?

I'm gonna go with 1957 Thunderbird "F" bird, 312ci, 300hp, final answer.

Year and engine correct. Also available on non-Thunderbirds in that year including Rancheros and Station Wagons!
