You are correct with these answers, however, if you could read my mind you would know I was looking for some other specifics. Before you ask your question, can you (or anyone) tell some more '64 1/2 specific differences? Then it's your turn karman! Thanks, kennyg

Hood and headlight extensions have different finish. Carpet does not go all the way up to the sill plates. Door lock ***** are colored and not chrome. I think the horns were also different because of the generator powering them.

The horns are the big ones used on the '64 Fairlane and mounted to the strut rod brace. kennyg

'69's had a round cut out and the '70's were more egg shaped, also the way the structure is attached is different around the hood latch area. The repros are of a '70, sorta. Your turn mgreene. kennyg

Plazaglas ? (in Canada) Man it has been a long time, I sold my first 1967 GT500 around 1977. (My file says I sold it for $4,500 and that was about $50 more than I had in it.)

Yep, Dan, that's it. I'm almost in the same boat as you - sold my '67 GT-500 for $12K after paying $10K for it - thought I made out like a bandit.

Your turn at the trivia...

Answer either one.
How many of the original 1960s GT40s had an aluminum chassis?
or
How many of them survive today as a complete car?

Correct on both accounts! I'll stump you next time with a parts question maybe, a supplier question perhaps?

Nope, you're half right - white is correct, black is not.

The first 11 Thunderbolts were painted maroon, which was known as Vintage Burgundy in Ford literature, the rest were white; 99 had manual transmissions. (Sourcehttp://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...orth_American) I'm moving my '64 4 door to an inside garage space today for the first time it's been in my possesion. Since the hood is dented, hail damaged, surface rusted, and is rusted out!, I'm thinking of putting a Thunderbolt scoop on it. When you see it coming in your rear view mirror, you won't realize it's a 4 door. kennyg
