Sounding more and more like decals & plastic without substance.

Oops, that's what the orginal CA special was back in the 60s.

Actually My 68 Gt/CS Had a Hi-po 390 With Holley 4 Barrel and a 4Speed . Ran Pretty Good. The Only Non Functional Piece was the Side Scoops but if Memory Serves they were Non Functional on the 68 Shelby as Well. As Far as Non Functional Hood Scoops The Great Majority of all Muscle cars Scoops were Non Functional. Only a Favored Few had a Working Cold or Ram Air Package. The Name California Special has always Had a Stigma Attached to it Because The Majority of them had less than Spectacular Lo po Engines in them. I Know I owned one back in the Day. But it was a **** Nice Car. Lets wait for some more specs and Pics before we Condemn what may be a Great car. The Larger Sway bars Hint at Some Substance being put in this car. My Info is extremely early and Sketchy because I am Gleaning Parts Catalog Text and Very Few pictures. For Those of Us Wanting a Shelby and it being out of Reach this May be a Nice Alternative. Lets Have some Optimisim Here!

I wish I could share the optimistic spirit, but IMO Ford has gone a long way lately toward driving away customers and beating down optimism...

Sweet! Can't wait to see it Kevin! I like how they are going to differentiate the cars by having slightly different front a rear bumpers. That takes it a little bit away from the cookie cutter look. That and you can always customize Mustangs.

Update!

This is What I Have Come Up With as to the California Special as of Date. This is Part Fact ,Part Conjecture.

9. Front license Bracket instead of Plate bolted to Bumper. ALA Shelby.
This is all based on all Current Parts Catalog Information. More Could be Added and Some Things Could Change.

I will Update as More Information is Released!

kc
Somehow I missed this! Kevin do you have an image (parts depiction) of this? That is one of the things I don't like is to have to attach the plate onto the bumper. I have been looking for alternate ways for one, but this could save me that trouble.

Thanks!!

that bracket has to bolt to somewhere.....if we could get a complete install sheet for that bracket...we might have a good find...

just looked again it looks like the plate braket screws to the bumper..then the plate screws on that...oh well the search continues.......

u need the shelby hood and headlights and the bumper itself, and maybe even the fenders.

looks like a v6 with side skirts, a fleet service door molding, a sun roof, 1/4 panel scoops and decals.
