sounds good, now if they put all of those options in the list on the NEW mustang, now that would rock

Production Begins June 06, AN Early 07
Hmmm. I was just telling myself today, that I should at least wait until Oct 06 to purchase a Mustang. This just might be the ticket.

I would like to see the CS have a front grill like the Cobra GT500. Maybe it will come with a ducktail

Any idea what the hood scoop will look like?

All I can hope for is a REAL ducktail. Do whatever you else you want to it, just give me a real C/S ducktail spoiler.

I think a new SE is enough reason to get excited. I'd rather they try some thing different than Mach 1 or Bullitt.
I think it's pretty much guaranteed that they will be doing a Bullitt for 2008-- the 40th Anniversary of the movie.

This new California Special sounds awesome!

... but I'm still waiting for a BOSS!

If this is just cosmetic changes, I'm not too excited. I want to see some tinkering with the 3 valve!

I'm with archangel, so far we have a California Tape Special and a "Highland Green" special edition (Bullit)?

If ford thinks they can make us Mustang fans happy with tape and paint they are going to miss some truly great special edition oppurtunities.

Of all the versions of Mustangs that came out in the 60's & early 70's, the C/S was about the only one that did nothing for me. I think it's the name that kind of turned me off then and now, and the fact that it was purely a cosmetic package. I don't want to drive anything that has "California" plastered across it. Not that I have anything against California, but really, how many Texas Specials do you think they'd want out there? :P

I think that the yellow GT500 prototype in this thread is the California Special preproduction/prototype.

It's not. It's been shown around as nothing other than a preproduction GT 500. I have no reason to think it would be anything else. Especially wiht those "GT 500" stripes and Cobra emblems on it.

You are probably right. I was just speculating. The original California Specials were made to look similar to a Shelby. The yellow GT500 in the thread looks similar to the Shelby Cobra GT500 shown on the SVT website.

Yeah, you are correct about that. And maybe this could be somewhat of a glimpse to what the California Special could look like since we've now seen a couple pics of GT 500s with GT rear bumpers, regular interiors, and on one or two, no front splitter and GT body-colored side skirts. Maybe the new C/S will have the Shelby nose, somewhat different hood than the Shelby and GT, and still retain most of the other GT styling features? Maybe it'll still have a mostly GT interior too except for a few color accents the same color as the vehicle and some colored stitching.

I just can't wait to see it. Even if it is all show and no extra go, it's still something else that I'm sure a lot of Mustang fans will like. Just imagine all the Camaro/Firebird guys who have no vehicle to look forward to. Let alone speculating what, if any, SE's there will be or what they'll have.

I think it'll be a unique look on its own, not grabbing things from the Shelby GT500 this time around.

I'm guessing it will be a more aggressive looking GT

How come no one's said anything about the sun roof cut out on the top of the pic? I know a lot of you guys don't like sun roofs on Mustngs, since it pretty much has to slide up over the roof like the later model Cougars, but I think it would be a pretty cool idea.

If the wait to get a non SE now is any indication...order your 2010 model now and hope you can get it in late 2011
