No CS info at the show? Is this car REALLY going to happen for MY2007? The more I think about it, the more the idea of Ford putting out an SE along withe the GT500--well, it just seems unlikely to me. And, the silence IS deafening from the show re: the CS. Any info??

It will most likely be revealed at an upcoming show. Why play all your cards at once.

I sure do hope they release a highland green one someday. But not to soon... i'll be most upset when i get mine in the next few weeks and then in 07 or 08 they release a bullitt version.

I Have No Life
The link/pics were taken down until further notice.
Do not repost please.
As for everyone and the GT/CS debate that rages on.
No one stated this was anything more than appearance package...
Ford IS listening to its customers, and we happen to be a section of them.
We love the clean look, and a few may like the tacked on look of the scoops.
On the other side of the coin,
there ARE people out there that DO like the fake scoop look.
It may not be my cup of tea, but it will sell to that crowd.
It was an easy appearance upgrade that Ford can use to sell more cars....like it or not....it'll work.
Remember they aren't forcing this on you as standard GT parts, and its not really a 'special edition' more like a package.

Quality, originality, price, performance and style sell cars........not tape and fake scoops,
That is what Ford did with the new generation Mustang ( 2005 + ) and their sells prove it,
The California Special is a step backwards, not a step forward, especially with a Chevy and Dodge pony cars on the way,
This "package" can be duplicated with a credit card and a 30 minute visit to Pep Boys,
Ford..you did good with the Stang.....now do something that will make me trade in my 2006 GT and cause my friends to want to join the "Stang" family.

The first SN-95 SE was the 35th Anniversary Special. All the 35th SE had was a hood scoop - which later became standard on the GT, side scoops, that also became standard on the GT, black stripe on the hood, interior trim, including the aluminum shift **** and 35th badging.
So the CS content is not surprising. Keep in mind that IF the Camaro and Charger make it to production (not yet certain) they won't be here until the 2009 model year, at the earliest.
You also seem to have completely forgotten about the first S-197 Mustang SE, a whimpy underpowered POS that only has 475 HP and no scoops called the GT-500.

All this complaining about the GT/CS package is getting old. If you don't like it then you probably aren't the audience Ford had in mind when they came up with it.
This GT/CS package is no different from the original GT/CS. An appearance package.
As someone previously stated, in 1969 the Mach 1 was just an appearance package. Any engine that you could get the Mach 1 could be gotten on a plain old Mustang including the 428 Cobra jet.
From the TMS 1969 timeline
The Mach 1 package, just like the upcoming GT/CS package was an appearance package. I'm glad Ford didn't listen to critics (if there were any) of the Mach1 apperance package back in 1968. Get over it.
For those in the market for more performance than the GT offers and don't want to buy a GT-500, save your pennies until summer of 2007. Looks like you will be able to chose between a new Boss and Mach 1 and possibly a Bullitt.

The Mach 1 was essentially a fastback GT with different stripes and a more upscale interior. A spoiler and rear window louvers were optional.
The Mach 1 included the GT's non-functional hood scoop. A functional "Shaker" scoop was available...The scoop was standard on the 428 Cobra Jet Ram-Air V-8 and optional for Mach 1 or GT with 351 or 390 engines.

How did you come to the conclusion of a new Bullitt? Or is it just a guess.

Hence the reason I said "possibly a Bullitt"
