Also for 2007, a GT/CS (California Special) will be available with a GT/CS tape stripe, hood scoop, side scoops, and a unique front fascia. Inside, the GT/CS will have heated two-tone black and grey leather and suede seats and the rearview mirror will have an integrated compass. An intake cover will dress up the engine bay. The GT/CS will be available nationwide as either a coupe or convertible.

Hate it that Ford is going to the fake scoops and tape route for this special edition Stang....hope it is not a sign of the future.

I agree, just cheapens the look and overall stylistic integrity and design honesty. The return of the deadweight fake Dumbo ears on the side, a make-believe airbrake on the hood and Ricer'esque sticker stripes gummed onto the sides do nothing for me other than scream "preening poser."

Undoubtedly there are enough peacocks out their that are entranced by such jewelry, so whatever.

But it does represent the triumph of the marketeers and their cheap surface flash over the engineers and more substantive performance enhancements when it comes to the development dollars at Ford, not a good sign for real product improvement/enhancement.

See...
Here's the beauty...
You can buy a GT if you want the clean look....
...or you can buy a GT/CS if you want the tacked on look.

Satisfies both crowds...
..they aren't forcing the scoops on ANYONE

I don't get why so many people are against it.
You may not like it, but no ones forcing you to buy it, you can still achieve the clean look in a GT

I personally like the side scoops... even though they are "fake", but the hood scoop is fugly (the Roush one looks tons better) and I don't like the side stripe either.

You can complian about the CS all you want - if it isn't your cup of tea, then it isn't. But just because of this car, don't start slagging saying they are messing up the new Mustang already in terms of where they are going in the future and other special editions.

I put up this post in another thread and it fits here as well:

"Holy.... the Mustang is going into its SECOND year.... the darn thing is still new. It turns out that it is selling as well as or better than expected - great news for a company tight on money. Great - Ford finds that the car is a hit and they can expand the line as they move forward.

So what do you do - roll out a looks only/accessory SE to keep things NEW with the car and generate some buzz, while you spend the time TESTING AND R&D-ing the performance special editions like a possible Mach or Bullitt?? Ummm YEAH. If you want the performance ones to come out good enough to keep those special Mustang folks happy, that's what you do. You want them to slap the thing together and get it out the door as fast as possible? You saw how long it took them to get the S197 locked down and set. Personally, I'd rather them take the time and get the new SEs RIGHT....."

Wasn't it just cosmetic items on the OLD CS? I don't see anything wrong and though I wouldn't go with it, I am sure there will be those that do and maybe IT will become something special in 30 years. Be glad that Ford hasn't made a cutback in the mustang as well. We could just see at 6 or Gt model and not have the other choices that are appearing on the horizon. I think they should do a state special for every state.... OHIO/Special sounds good (ha). But ya, bring on the mach 1 or boss.

I dont like ANY of it, fake scoops and an aftermarket looking lower facia, with tape stripes with a 1/2" gap around the door joints?

It needs a '68 GT/CS spoiler, bad.

Any word on how much more it will cost? I honestly don't think they will sell THAT well, but it'll be nice to have more parts to choose from. (i.e. scoops, fascia) Any interior changes?

How long have you had these pics, Brad.

I hope its not more then $300 for what you 'get' being the pony package adds about $415 to the cost of an abs V6, and you get tons of stuff for that.

I must be the first to notice? Those fanblades look 100% polished - no paint in the inner part of the blade!?

Are these the FRPP polished blades that are supposedly 9" wide and can take on a 285?

I have a source at AAI that tells me the heated seats will be available on most models.

I hope your source is right...
