There is a dealer in Costa Mesa with two 6 cyl cars with the California Special stuff on them and upgraded wheels/tires. The badge on the trunk says "SCS". I have no clue with the extra S is for.....maybe six as in 6-cyl?

See...
Here's the beauty...
You can buy a GT if you want the clean look....
...or you can buy a GT/CS if you want the tacked on look.

Satisfies both crowds...
..they aren't forcing the scoops on ANYONE

I don't get why so many people are against it.
You may not like it, but no ones forcing you to buy it, you can still achieve the clean look in a GT

Not my thing, but Ford sales need all the help they can get. Think Positive

I don't post here much and am not in the market for a Mustang but I have to ask. If that is a running car with only tape and scoops and it's 2-06. Why can't they get that to market this year 2006??

I don't see the problem with the CS... I've always thought of it as the "pony package" for the GT...

Exactly what I was thinking. Leave the performance upgrades for a possible Mach or Bullitt.

And on a semi-side note... I have never owned a SN95 Mustang, but haven't the side scoops always been fake since '94? Have any of those stangs actually had functioning side scoops, other than possibly the Cobras?

I thought the side scoops on early run 94's were functional as well as the side scoops on Saleens in that body style...Can anyone verify this?

Yes, my 94 GT had functioning side scoops. Although they did not flow air very well, from my water test with a garden hose the results were less than free flowing.

Good to know. What about '99-'04 GT's? Anyone who owns, or has owned, that body style have the answer?

They were non-functional appearance items on my 2000 GT. The ones that came in 2001, which stuck out more, were the same. My current car has the same fake ones (01-04).

Sorry, but if Ford is going to make something really "special", they need to add more than just cosmetics. Now, THIS would be more like it!1

Do you have any photos of the scoops or the fenderwell behind the scoops?

I dont think people are grasping the concept of what these cars oringinaly were. Ford is keeping in the original concept of the car i.e. all of the standard mustang gt options, with a body kit. Thats it no more no less. I will say it once again, slowly this time, if you want a performance SE wait for the BOOOOOSSSSSSSSS or MAAAAAAAAAAAACH 1............

I don't get the angst either. It's an option package not an SE. It's no different than ordering the IUP package over the standard dash.
