Wow, back to the future. Fake scoops, stripes. Can a big, fancy hood decal be far behind? (The decal would be good for at least 5 more HP, yes?) Even the GT500 has unnecessary clutter.

Much of the appeal of the new generation Mustang is its unbroken lines - except for the PepBoys wing on the deck. Thank goodness for the spoiler delete option.

the original GT/CS was just a trim package also, it could be ordered with a 6cyl or a big block
the original also had the stripes running down the center of the side panel
I think they are just playing around with designs in the spirit of the 68' GT/CS
it will be interesting to see what the final car will look like

Agreed, I hope they're just toying with the idea. I can't wait to see the real car.

I too, am curious about any info you have on an S197-based Mach 1. I 'd like to hope that it'll have a functional Shaker connected to a naturally aspirated 4.6 4V.

Also, any word if those heated seats you mentioned will be GT/CS exclusive, or will they be optional on the other models?

Actually, while I'm at it, bring back the SVT Mustang Cobra with a naturally aspirated 4.6 4V with variable valve timing on both intake and exhaust and an IRS (I have my reasons for wanting an IRS, but that's another story for another thread).

Not too bad, but not my style

I dont get why people are all excited about the front bumper..looks like a cheapened up GT bumper with the lower grill deleted.

When I first saw the CS photos a month ago, I hated it.
But looking at it again, the CS is starting to grow on me, even if the hood scoop looks like someone stole it off an 04 Stang.

If the side stripe is reflective like the old stripes from the late 60's that would be great.
When I'd take my '72 Torinos out for a spin, their Laser Stripes on the side really would get the younger guys excited.

But the CS really needs a duck tail and at least the 32V Mach 1 motor with VVT & bumped up to 330 or so HP.

So it's the same car with crappy fake scoops and stripes. Good thing those engineers get paid so well, I couldn't have thought of that.
Just when we thought Ford had left that kind of stuff behind...

Just something else for the non-Ford folks to make fun of.

Does it go slower at high speeds? Must be an extra safety Package.

Also for 2007, a GT/CS (California Special) will be available with a GT/CS tape stripe, hood scoop, side scoops, and a unique front fascia. Inside, the GT/CS will have heated two-tone black and grey leather and suede seats and the rearview mirror will have an integrated compass. An intake cover will dress up the engine bay. The GT/CS will be available nationwide as either a coupe or convertible.

those heated seats would be awful nice up here in the NW!

I am considering trading in the 06 when the 08 Bullitt hits the floor, maybe the seats will be an option on that one also

Any possibilities that the '07 GT/CS will have the Shelby / Cougar style taillights? Similar to the ones we all liked on the concept car? Here's the concept and a '68 California Special.

they probably won't redesign the trunk lid for a one off it is not as easy as replacing the back panel with the design of the rear..and for the fake scoops the 67-71 mustangs (and shelby's) alot of the models had fake scoops...

I just don't understand how they can't just cut one hole and make at least the hood scoop functional, and add a ducktail to make it what the people really want...?????

First thing i do to mine is gunna be 20" redline tires old school oh yeah

I have a source at AAI that tells me the heated seats will be available on most models.

I think it would look a lot better with painted instead of taped sides
