No HP gains or any thing? I'm disappointed in this one. Hopefully a Bullitt or Mach 1 . . . some thing will be better than this.
The GT was supposed to get a 20 HP boost for 2007.

That is unless the engine program $$ got yanked and moved over to the fake scoop program.

Well, the good news is that the SE's are starting........the much better news (per Brad's post) is that it looks like a Mach I is definitely in the picture. Bet it will have more HP.

I understand its playing the pony package roll for the GT, but at least the pony pack came with some worthwhile hardware (GT suspension)

To bring the CS up to snuff for cheap Ford should:

Add a good ducktail (you know, one that looks...GOOD) and center mount fogs.

Then, add the FRPP power pack, drag pack, and suspension pack.

What would that be, a $2k price increase?

Special editions should be special. (i.e. NOT dublicable at home with duct tape and a bisected trashcan)

Makes me wonder if the 32V, 4.6L that's in 05stangkc's parts catalog is for the Mach 1 for MY 2008 or another SE.

Ford really needs to do a N/A 5.4L.

And while they're at it the 4.6L S/C from the Terminator Cobra should be resurected for a SE.

Ford could easily and cheaply do all these engines:

4.6L 3V GT bumped up to 320 HP - GT
4.6L 4V Mach 1 engine bumped to 350 HP - Bullitt
5.4L 3V N/A 375 HP - Mach 1
4.6L 4V - S/C 425 HP GT-350
5.4L 4V - S/C 500 HP GT-500 (still think at the last minute they'll say 500 HP

That would give us a great selection of engines & SEs.

Might be, or possibly the new Boss (or maybe for both)

Those are nice pics Brad.. Thanks.. But next time you get a chance to talk to Ford, tell them exterior appearance packages dont appeal to Mustang enthusiast.. We want big blocks and horsepower.. SuperCharger and turbos, feet lbs of tremendous torque.. We dont need them to make our cars look apealing.. We can do that ourselves through Ebay...

What Mustang enthusiast want, is a Ford motor that can keep a 6.1L Hemi without a tune, from ebarassing us at a stoplight when we got Grandpa visiting over the weekend.. What we want are factory turbo charged, or Supercharged Mustangs which have enough power without a tune, to beat a SRT4 Dodge Neon... Yeah, you tell them enough games Brad.. You tell them to either bring it all to the party for us, or just dont even bring it..

We dont want fancy wheels, fake side scoops, fake hood scoops, and fancy names like GT/CS.. We want Horspower and torque.. Thats its.. Its pretty simple really.. Not rocket science.. You just tell them the people demand Big Block power... Thats it..

Very disappointing. I thought the whole point of tribute/special edition cars was to pay homage to the original of the name?
Where is the ducktail?
Where are the cougar tail lights?
Where are the rectangular fogs?

The side stripe and the side scoops are fine by me since they are clear throw-backs, but the hood scoop is stupid. Most, if not all, had deluxe, louvered hoods with turn signals. Why couldn't they model it after that?
As far as horsepower goes, GT/CS cars did not necessarily come with powerful engines. Correct me if Im wrong, but couldn't they be ordered with 289s, 302s, and 390s?
Personally, I think the GT/CS is a silly SE car to make, but if you are gonna resurrect the name, at least try and emulate the original.

Well I like, but don't think I would buy it. It is nice to see the side scoops will be avail from Ford. And the Plenum cover too ( I still love mine Bill)

You can count on a Mach 1.
Is that where the 5.4L is going?

If so, that SUX! I'd much rather have a Boss 329.

I'm disappointed too that there isn't any HP gains, and I hope that they do build a special bullit edition, that would look totally awesome on this new body design. Also, is it just the way the picture looks that there are no "scoops" i guess is what they would be called in the headlight buckets?
That's just the reflection of the camera's flash.

the original GT/CS was just a trim package also, it could be ordered with a 6cyl or a big block
the original also had the stripes running down the center of the side panel
I think they are just playing around with designs in the spirit of the 68' GT/CS
it will be interesting to see what the final car will look like

Man, you stole the words right out of my mouth. People don't want to modify the looks of the car at all. We want to keep the looks stock. Oh wait, I think there is a complete appearance modification section of this site that gets a lot of posts

To me the whole car is pretty much stupid. Except for the intake cover that should have been on all the cars from the start. Why would anyone want that except people in Cali? Anyways, you say mach 1, well is there any real news on a boss car. It's getting pretty old waiting to see what ford is going to do. I really wish I could just go ahead and make plans to buy my new boss. Rant over.

You already can...have you seen an Charger SRT 8 run? Nowhere near as quick as you would think.

And just who is this "we" you are reffering too, you have a mouse in your pocket?
