That's a sweet looking Boss! And yes, the wheels look great...but they also look like they're a PITA to clean! Are they forged or cast? How much do they weigh? What size tires do you have on them?

Painted my brake calipers burnt copper. Did it lazily without removing the calipers, used the brush method in the back, and sprayed it in the front. I messed up placing the decals on the passenger side, it came out a little crooked and off center. I could live with it, but it bothers me. I bought an extra set, what's the best way to try to remove the decals?
Use a razor blade to take off the decal if you want to replace it. One of mine was crooked so I carefully shaved it off and used another decal to get it right. Then I clear coated them and called it good.

After putting 11.5 x 20's on my car and feeling the weight difference between them and the stock 18's, I would not go 20 again (Or was it 10.5 wide???). I personally think 19 is the way to go on the 197 and with stock HP there doesn't seem to be a need for any wider tire than a 275 to 285. I wouldn't go 315 on the rears again either. Kane made some good choices IMO.

John, I tell you what, for stock, I'd say yes. But for blown, putting down ~ 600 or so, it's a must to go 305. Here's why. I thought it was overkill too but I drove my buddies 2014 with a Maggie blower and similar setup to mine, putting down the same power. He had the stock brembo wheels and tires. Let me tell you I was spinning like crazy in 1st and 2nd, even from a roll. With my 305 crappy Nitto drags, I have wayyyyy more hook than he does. I don't even like my nittos but I could at least put the power down.

I'm debating doing it but with the caliper installed still, etc. dunno. Next tires will likely be Toyo R888's, but they only come in 285 in my size. Either that or Mickey Thomson ET Streets. I thought about taking them off to paint, but after looking at it, the job can really be done without taking them off the car. I think the key is taking your time and doing a really good tape job.
After that, I just used really light coats and didn't get anxious to either spray too much or spray too soon. I also was sure to cover the complete caliper and again take my time and make sure there were no holidays.
I gave the paint a day to dry before I applied the decals and then the clear coat over that. Again with the clear coat I used light coats about 10 min apart. I probably put about 7 or 8 light coats of paint along with 5 or 6 clear.
There is no way to tell that they weren't taken off by looking at them. I actually surprised myself how good they turned out. If you were to take the wheel off, stick your head into the wheel well and look way back behind the caliper, then you could tell that there an area that didn't get completely covered. It's something that you'd have to be looking for though and I could have probably even covered it all if I was that concerned.
It was a fun little mod that was cheap but satisfying when I finished. I also put some HPS pads, cleaned/waxed the inside of my wheels and wiped down my struts, sways, LCAs/brackets and wheel wells while I was at it. And changed the oil!
Ready to park it for the winter now. Lol
