I am also sick of hearing, "it will all be better when it gets here", easy for people with their car to say. My car has been built for a week, I live 3 hours from the plant, and they are saying 2 MORE weeks.

That lady a few posts back ordered her car over 3 weeks after me, lives 3 times further from the plant, and her ETA is the day after mine?! Wow that makes perfect sense.
Go through this thread. You will see your exact post over and over again. And keep following it and you'll see that when the car arrives, it all melts away. It's "easy for us to say" because we lived it already, not because we can't relate. It's all part of the process. Complain away though, that's what this thread is for... Commiserating with people in the same situation helps the time go by.

I ordered mine three weeks ago and I don't even have an order number yet. The salesman emailed me tonight to tell me he will talk to the sales manager about it tomorrow. I'm not sure the order has even gone to Ford yet.

I ordered a black GT premium convertible, 401a with cashmere and Brembo package.

Thats just it, I didn't want anything special at all. It's not like I picked some crazy combination of options, I wanted a blue mustang with gears. Thats it. I would have NEVER ordered one if I woulda known it went like this. I will never order another car, its supposed to be fun and exciting getting a new car. This is nothing but bull**** and lies from everyone I talk to.

My dealer was willing to drive up to the plant and get my car, and now Ford is telling them they aren't allowed. Yeah thats great customer service there.

The weird part...it was built on July 21st (Thursday) per the sticker, but as of 11 pm on Friday the 22nd, I couldn't access the window sticker in the system. But, no matter. It's there now.

Now that I know that my car exists, it's brutal waiting for delivery. I can only imagine how many switches are needed in different railyards to get it from Flat Rock to Minneapolis.

Kona Blue Mustang GT Premium with Oxford White over the top stripe.

I sent you a new update Her2012Pony!

It shows the build date as 7/29/11. My dealer thinks I will have it the first week or two of August but I have my doubts. After waiting three months I really am having buyer's regret but I am sure I will love it when it finally gets here.

I have no idea how to track when it is actually built or ships.

Hey Blue Horse,

I can continue to track it for you. Just PM me when you’d like an update.

I understand your frustration blackgt87. There have been a few things going on at the plant that everyone is aware of (stop ships, holds, hail storms, etc.). None of us have lied to you, we are advising you of the updates in the system. Your vehicle was put out to await shipment on the 19th and should ship out soon. I do thank you for your time and patience.

Definitely calm down. You really haven't waited that long for your car. Some on this forum ordered back in December or November only for their 2011 to transition to a 2012 build and be delayed into May or June. Some from that time don't even have their cars yet. I got lucky and got my car in less then two months from the time I ordered it but that's very rare. I prepared myself to wait for three months when I ordered her which is the normal average for my local dealers getting their retail stock. Its actually the original estimate when I went into order.

Also, to my understanding no dealer is allowed to drive up to the plant to pick up vehicles. Most likely a security risk. Just take a chill pill, you'll be driving that car before you know it.

Oops! My error. The window sticker doesn't show the build date. Deysha just gave me my update, and it will be built by the end of this week with an ETA of Aug 16th. So, I have the next three weeks to pick an appropriate song with which to test the lovely sound system.....hmmm.....decisions, decisions!! It will be sad to retire the old pony though. Currently driving a '98 Mustang GT. It's been an absolute delight to drive, and I will miss it dearly.

Don't you dare tell me that I haven't been lied to. You can't speak for the other 15 FCS employees who have been feeding me crap for the past week.

I have been on the phone with FCS since Thursday of last week asking if my car can get shipped, because I think taking THREE WEEKS for a BUILT CAR that is NOT on hold, or in a hail storm, or on a stop ship, but RELEASED, to travel THREE HOURS away is ridiculous. Which it is. I was given a case number and was told I would receive a call from a "customer service specialist" within two business days. I called Monday to ask why I have not gotten a call and she said they hand until the end of the day. Technically noon was two business days but ok, fine. So I didn't hear back at all and I call today. No name was assigned to my case number, NO CSM was even notified to call me. Except when I called yesterday to see why the lady just said "oh they have more time". She didn't check anything, just saw the date and told me to keep waiting. If she had checked (like they did today) she would have seen there was no name, instead she lied to me and said someone was notified and would be contacting me. (not to mention the lady who screwed it up in the first place who PROMISED me a call within two days)

You have been helpful in your updates, but as a whole FCS is awful.

Now I am promised another call within 1 business day, sorry to say my hopes aren't high.

Sorry to get you riled up, Blue Horse. Turns out, I misinterpreted my window sticker. Also, I'm not counting on my ETA. Mine has to ship rail, and I'm intimately familiar with some of the complicating factors with that system. I only hope it gets here before Aug 22nd, because I'll be out of the country for a week after that!

Add that to the list of lies then, I was told that by THREE different FCS employees including a "supervisor" that if my dealer was willing they were allowed to go pick the vehicle up.

Good to hear. Now starts the calm and relaxed waiting period . It was hard for me to give up my stang but since I passed it onto my younger sister I still get to see it every once and awhile. But these new ones are an excellent upgrade!

I think maybe you meant me, and trust me you didn't get me riled up. The combination of waiting so long AFTER my car is built and released along with the terrible service/answers I have been getting from Ford is what has me riled up.

Funny you mention the song thing, I have been trying to figure out the first song I'm gonna listen to in the car LOL

I stand corrected. I assume that your car is apart of a QC hold that Ford just cannot release any information on. This is most likely why they are saying that nobody can pick it up at this time. If Ford told people about every QC holds that happened people would just run around panicking "OMG my car is going to fall apart, **** Chinese tranny, stupid 5.0 #8 cylinder, darn ticking".

A hold was applied earlier just after my car was shipped for tranny leaks. Mistakes happen when building these cars and lets just be thankful that they catch this stuff at the plant before everyone receives their car and starts dedicated threads about whatever issue could have arose.

For the record they are not saying "nobody can pick it up", they are saying its "released and awaiting shipment". But won't tell me why is gonna spend 3 weeks awaiting shipment.

But I'm glad you can see what I am really upset about (I think lol). If my car is done, built, released, and good to go. Ship it. If it's not, tell me why. All I want is a reasonable answer as to why it hasn't shipped, (not a [bunch of asterisks] hail storm excuse) I'm a grown up (and a mechanical engineer) I'm certain I can handle it.

If they had said "sorry we had a bunch of bad valve cover gaskets and they leak, it was a few hundred its gonna take a week or two to sort through what cars have em, what ones don't, and fix them" I woulda been mad, I woulda come on this thread and complained, but it woulda been for a reason. A real one. Not because someone is unwilling to give me a real answer then tell me I'm not getting lied to.

I do understand what you upset about fully and I would probably feel the same if nobody would give me a strait answer. (I sometimes use too much sarcasm in posts ) I know its definitely weird that Ford doesn't really notify people why their cars are put on hold or forced to sit but I've noticed it is a trend. It definitely sounds like its on some form of a hold.

I agree its weird that they do things this way, but I just believe that its because the average person out there wont understand that, for example, a valve cover gasket being bad is not the end of the world. They'll prance around the internet thinking that this gasket issue is going to cause all 5.0s out there to blow before 15,000 miles or something like that, just hurting Ford's public image with something that could have been avoided just keeping as a need to know thing around the factory itself. I'm sure you could understand this being an engineer.

Wow - I hope I'm not on the same road you're on once you are driving. But surely, you will be much more relaxed at that time (so I guess I'm glad I'm not on the roads you're driving NOW).

Seriously - It sounds like you do have some reason to be annoyed. But I suspect FCS has not purposely lied to you. Rather, it sounds like a case of 'misinformation' or 'lack of authority' on someone's behalf. Be good to Deysha - she has been SO consistently helpful (and kind) to so many on this forum and other forums.

Big picture - You'll get your car. And it won't be that long from start to finish (especially compared to many - even some just a few hours away from the plant). Another big picture item - it's just a car (whoops - I'm wrong, it's a MUSTANG...that's so much more than a car).

My advice (for what it's worth). Find a couple of good books from your local library. Get caught up in those. You'll receive a call from your dealer and you'll be a happy camper. Lastly - if you must stay on top of it every day, deal with Deysha (and Deysha only). And be kind.

Take it or leave it.

blackgt87 - I understand your frustration but . . . there are a number of people who have and are waiting a lot longer than you. Bottom line when your car is here you will love it and forget how long you waited. If you want one now go find one on a lot (good luck finding what you want though).

FCS is just doing their job and telling you all they can. That person doesn't know your car from the next or specifically why yours hasn't shipped. If you are polite and patient however they will do all they can to help you. But don't expect them to go find your car and drive it to you.

After a week of calling and getting the run around and being hung up on and dealing with rude and unhelpful FCS employees, I finally got through to the CSM I was supposed to be talking to since last Thursday. He said he has 4 calls, all on mustangs, all with people wanting to know why they are waiting so long. He had some suspicions but I will post when he calls me back with what he referred to as "the real reason your car is sitting and hasn't shipped".

I'm really curious to hear the "real reason" myself. It definitely seems Ford could improve it's system and communication between the plant-dealership-FCS employees. Everyone I have spoken to at Ford has been extremely nice I just think they don't have the tools or ability to get the right information. My dealer thinks my car is on a car carrier somewhere driving around while Deysha tells me it hasn't shipped yet. I don't think anyone is lying to me I just think it's a flawed system. My car was released for shipping on July 21 and here we are a week later and my car hasn't made it to the dealership 15 miles away. I'm betting there is a more efficient away to do things but I could be wrong.

It's frustrating but I know all this will be a distant memory when I get my car!
