You have to decide if you want to b*tch about not getting a VIN or find happiness changing your order repeatedly. You can't have both.

Hopefully it all works out and you and your new GT/V6/Neon makes you happy.

Agreed. Buying a car without test driving it is ridiculous. Amazing that a forum full of strangers can sway a decision which will financially impact you.

That being said, if this were a weekend car only, I'd be a fool not to get the V8.
I suspect I'll have a twinge of regret for not waiting on the '11 V6 once I drive it, but primarily for the fuel economy (I drive 45 miles per day)... but no regret over passing on the '10 GT. I don't need the power. I think I might next time I buy one, tho.

+1

You seem very impulsive jokerstar - VERY

I have driven both the '11 GT & V6, so my decision to buy the V6 is based on MY first hand experience with both cars - they aren't going to run out of mustangs tomorrow, so CHILL dude - go drive first - buy later

I did.

But I didn't ask anybody's opinion either.
Knew what I wanted as soon as I saw it (on the internet at LA Car show), read the details, and heard the Bullitt exhaust note on Ford's site.

Wish Ford hadn't taken that site down.

Lots of us in this forum have ordered a 2011 without ever having driven one. And many of us have sought out the opinions of others on one feature or another. Besides the car itself, I ordered SHR quarter window louvers based on the advice of my fellow TMS'ers. I do agree, however, that if someone can't decide which engine they want, it would be better to wait until they can test drive each.

If you're going for the performance upgrade of the GT you probably want those Brembos and 3.73s... otherwise it will just be a "slow" GT with "not so excellent" braking. I'd post another thread about that if I were you.

Screw that, go with a GT500.

Har har. I don't plan to do enough crazy braking to warrant the brembos, plus the wheels are ugly as hell.

Oh, and my dealer wants 500 OVER invoice for the GT instead of 500 under for the V6. He says he's charging me 1k (even for retail order verification) over simply because it's a "hot car". Lame. I will cancel my order because I have another dealer in VA who will give me 600 under for the GT. After the mega processing fees it's more like 300, but that's better than nothing.

Come on - did you REALLY think you were going to get the same deal on a GT from that dealer?!?!?!

No offense to you, but I bet he is glad to be rid of ya with all of your changes - LOL

...still think you should wait until you can drive each before you make such a big decision, but whateva

Why not? 500 under is 500 under. The dealer I am probably going to be buying from now quoted me 600 under (well, 300 after doc fees) for my V6 and is doing to the same for the V8. Greedy GMs!

And yeah, he is probably glad to be rid of me. But you know what? If I'm giving someone 25,000 to 35,000 dollars of my money, I have the right to bug them. Especially since every time I've added MORE stuff which means MORE money for the dealer!!

You live in DC - I can't imagine there aren't any dealers within 50 miles of you that have a GT & V6 to test drive. They are all over here in Austin already. GO FOR A TEST DRIVE
