A question because I'm only 10 days into owning this car and I'm not sure if it's me or the car right now:
The gearbox is definitely notchy in 2nd and 3rd gear, probably 3/4 of the time when shifting. 1, 4, 5 and 6 are not - it's only 2 and 3. I don't even hear a sound, it's purely in the feel of the shift. Goes into gear fine, just feels a little more forced/notchy than the other gears.
Is this something I should ask the dealer about, like a symptom of the transmission problems, or is this me being absolutely amateur at shifting this thing? Thanks in advance.

I took my car in for a whine in all gears, it was fairly loud and had started with delivery of the car (at first just thought it was normal noise until it kept getting louder, my car came with 108 miles from the factory, it was pulled for longer term testing before delivery to dealer and had a note in the window of such).
Today during check in with the dealer, they mentioned that the whine would have turned into something much worse very shortly had I not brought it in, and that a replacement transmission had been authorized and the original plan to replace parts in mine had been scrapped. There's a backorder of the MT82's, and I have a priority request for one, but its pretty interesting stuff.
Other than an occassional difficult shift into 4th when the transmission was hot, I really didn't have any problems with mine outside the whine. I was surprised to find that the whole thing is being replaced at 20k on my car, however happy that Ford is taking my satisfaction so seriously.

But regular driving 4th is.fine. When im under heavy acceleration the 4th gear locks me out, But im not convinced its the tranny yet, and maybe more of my selection on gate when pulling into 4th.

This thread should be locked. There ain't a damm thing being accomplished in this thread. All of you should buy automatics. Leave the shifting for the ones who can.

That's the only thing with mine.( 4th gear can't shift into, and a very very little supercharger type whine)..

FWIW, I loved the one they had for the 3650 in my '06. This is a totally different design but it looks STOUT and the people at MGW are great to deal with.
