NHTSA opens investigation into transmission problems
If the car was unsafe, the 80 reports to NHTSA would have listed accidents, and possibly injuries. Since none of them have had an accident, I find that comment ridiculous, and possibly just an excuse to get rid of a car he doesn't like or decided he didn't want.
Let's face it, Ford is not going to chance a major law suit by leaving unsafe vehicles on the road. I am sure they still remember the Explorer debacle. If the car was determined to be unsafe they would have replaced it, hopefully, with a Camaro or Challenger.
Heck yeah, buy a GM! They'll treat you well...
...oh, wait...

...well, buy a NEW GM vehicle! Just pray they don't go belly-up again 'cause NEW NEW GM will tell you to go fly a kite as they are responsible for neither OLD GM nor NEW GM's gaffes.

I sold my Mustang on Autotrader. The guy is flying in from Miami to drive it home. That's at least 800 miles from me. There must be a Mustang shortage somewhere or mine was a really great deal. Either way, I had 3 call this weekend and 2 were from out of state so there must not be Mustangs everywhere like Matero implies.
You can look at it thus way to, even with 300-350 actually used mustangs on autotrader thats only 5-6 mustangs per state, considering several thousand are sold every month, that aint too bad.
Also with a refresh coming up and orders for the 2013MY following the late november LA auto show, right now is the time to sell your 2012 if you want a 2013. I really don't think there is anything out of the ordinary here. Camaro resales would be up to if they were releasing a refresh across all models

Wow, what a bunch of immature douchebags in this thread. If you don't have problems, great! Why do you have to rag on the people that are having problems and want to get them fixed?
So much rampant famboyism that you take the mere POSSIBILITY of an actual issue with the car as a offense against your precious cars.
As a former Mustang owner and someone looking to pick up a 11+ sometime down the road I must say, "Sorry for those having problems, hope they get it fixed and make it right." Is that so hard to say?
Oh BTW: If you're merging onto a highway and the car will physically not shift into higher gears. That is a safety issue, period. Read the NHTSA reports. I'm sure they're all just making it up because they have nothing better to do right?

I just read that and all i can say is
... That is a bunch of bologna. I do however like some of the comments below it. "People should stop making their car payment since they owe money to "old" GM which supposedly doesn't exist any longer." and this one "the money that saved that sorry company came form the people of this great country, its sad how they think they can treat the very same people that helped their sorry asses out!" LOL
I did not dump mine. It was a perfectly working machine as most Mustangs are. Can't help it Matero can't drive! Maybe you can't either...
You think that buying a Camaro is your escape from this then think again...
