MT82 Problems - Fixed by Ford
#61
My dealership called me and wanted to do the fluid TSB. I knew it wouldn't help, but I let them anyways because that's part of trouble-shooting. Since that didn't work, my car is back at the dealership now getting the transmission pulled. There is a process in repair actions, you don't go A --> D.

I was going to have my car get the new fluid treatment but after reading this maybe reading this I will skip it seeing that I live in south FL. I have not experienced any hard grinding with my tranny, just notchy at times.

Was confirmed by Ford of Canada before buying my car in the U.S that my warranty would be honored over here by my local Ford dealership, but does it make any difference in regards to recalls and TSB's !

There has been a faint whine from the trans since ~1K miles on the dial. Car has 2800 miles on it now. Great technician at Ford warrantied it out and here is his right up:
Verify the customers concern. Remove the transmission from the car. All six bolts for the pressure plate were loose. Due to the loose pressure plate bolts the 3 alignment pins in the flywheels were snapped off. R&R the flywheel and the 6 pressure plate bolts. Change the trans fluid to the correct fluid and bleed the clutch assembly. Roadtest. THe clutch is working as it should be and there is no grinding gears.
3: XT-11-QDC (fluid-trans)
1: BR3Z-6375-C (flywheel asy)
6: W715869-S439 (bolt and was)
2: PM-1-C (fluid - brak)
Before I brought the car in shifting was very notchy. Now it shifts smooth as butter... huge difference, wow! Also, the clutch feels a lot lighter and engages nicely. Happy to be drivin the stang again

So i m bought a 2013 Grabber Blue GT with 6spd with 4700 miles from the original owner who had to return the car to ford because of financial issues.
Anyhow i got the car for a great deal 26,900 with all the extras and extended warranty not from ford but actual one that covers everything. Anyhow car came out to be 34,599 with tax, license, gap insrance, extender service etc.
I LOVE THE CAR. Best mustang ever, i owned both a 97 ( Still do ) GT CVT and a 2001 GT CP and now this.
The ****ty problem is i first time today experience the GRINDING Issue by stepping on the car on a on ramp to about 6500RPM from 2nd to 3rd. I could not engage 3rd at all... tried twice and only to grind it... HOPEFULLY I DID NOT DAMAGE ANYTHING. It was loud but nothing bad since i let go immediately.
I scheduled an APT with Ford here in SAN TAN Valley. and Got a SERVICE MANAGER involved thanks to Deysha FOR SERVICE REP.
So yeah i could of driven the white MUSTANG 2001 GT anyway i wanted. Slammed those gears too.
With this brand new mustang I CANT I am scared ill break something.
I barley got 7500 miles on the thing... i almost put 3000 miles and this is because i been driving my fiancé back and to from work 120 miles each day until i fix her BMW...
After that i am going to garage my baby since i work from home... Regardless the EXTENDED Platinum plan should cover all issues manufactures defect or whatever as long its not abuse... I HAVE NOT EVEN DROVE THIS CAR LIKE IT WAS MEANT TO BE..
PS Could also be me with releasing clutch to soon or not pressing it enough.

Deysha - I know my 2012 started out fine, no notchiness going from 1st to 2nd. However, at about 4,000 miles or so, I started noticing it. I took it to the dealer and asked it they could change the fluid. They told me my car had the right fluid in it when it was built (Januay 2012). The problem seems to be getting worse, and it is especially noticeable in cold weather, and when I first take off with a cold engine and make that first shift to 2nd. Should I take it back to the dealer and have them look at it?

Please, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number so I can escalate this to the customer service manager for your area.
