yup.. thats long in comparison, again im going on close to 6 months.. as many others. DOUBLE what you waited..
AFTER job1 smartguy...
JOB1 was Sept 7th-ish of 04.
You can't count waiting, when the car isn't even on the street yet.

there were 10,225 deliveries in May. That's over 340 per day. And there are currently 2500 for sale on car.com.

Call it what you want, but there's no hold, just being swamped with orders.

Those deliveries in May were mostly 2010s being cleared off the lot. I GUARANTEE you that.

Waiting surely has changed in the last 6 or 7 years....

I remember having to wait 10+ weeks for my order to come in, and that was ordered 6 months AFTER Job1.

so what our saying boomer you chose to wait 6 months after job one to place the order..

then when you placed the order it took almost 3 months from order to delivery?

2 weeks to a 1 month longer than average?

apple to oranges.. sorry

What I'm saying is that I'm no stranger to waiting.
And that was delays AFTER 6 months of steady production already, and that you can't count waiting during a period where the cars aren't even being produced yet.

Even back then, TSBs were popping up left and right.

"For sale on Cars.com" should not be the basis for any statistical analysis. If you look CLOSELY, you'll be able to see that many of those aren't even on the lots. Dealers list the cars there before they get them to increase floor/net traffic.

You know the real dumb ***** in this? Dodge and Chevy. If they did one hell of sale on the SRT8 and got it withing 2-3g of what I was going to pay for the stang I would be driving one by Friday.

This really sucks about what's going on with all the cars and their prospective buyers.
TMS has been very accomodating with all of the posts dealing with the delivery problems so far. Thank you Brad for allowing these guys and gals to vent their frustrations. Hopefully it will lead to results.
But once everyone gets their car, I wonder how many will continue to contribute to the forums? Or if they will simply float away and disappear.

Yeah, I actually had people ask me today if I was just going to buy a Camaro. . . but no. I'd rather have a used 'vette. Let the shopping begin. Whichever I get first, I buy!

for the record i did a search on my state.. for 11's

i found out of 5 pages of dealers in Ct..

about 6 v6's all autos except 1
1 gt convert premium with 401a auto..
1 gt500

so in CT a wopping total of 8 cars..
out of those dealers 1 car produced 1 week of april. the reset build weeks were first week of may.
not to mention how many are on order.. dont have those numbers

I'm not doing a "statistical analysis"... merely stating what's listed. So with that, fine... then there are 500 listed with actual photos on the dealer lot... And if you look CLOSELY, you'll be able to see that 150 of those 500 were listed in the past week. And many dealers don't use cars.com, rather their own website, cars.com isn't the end all be all in listings. These holds are bogus. Have been since the first one, and the subsequent 9 threads on different "holds" ideas. Ford is swamped.

Plus I just like how everyone thinks of Ford to be that of FedEx.

I've always enjoyed my 'vettes.

As another guy once said when I was thinking about the Mustang, "I wouldn't buy that... it's just a 'me too' car."

I do think the NEW 'stangs are something special but regardless of those who don't have one on order feel about quality holds, they DO exist and they ARE in place.

If they made the Challenger in a convertible, I'd already be in one.

Saw one with an aftermarket shaker hold. Beautiful. Still don't understand why those are not factory options.

Threads like this make me hate the (over)information age... What happened to ordering a car, and having "Christmas in July" when the dealer calls you to tell you to come pick up your new car?

SRT8/used vetts? C'mon people, there are reasons you ordered an '11 Mustang. Stick it out and you won't be sorry.

Tim -- 100% agree.

Now how long should it take to fix those "problems?" If you took your car into the dealer because of a recall or a TSB and they kept it for 4, 6, or even 8 weeks and didn't tell you anything how would you feel? Be honest.

i was on corral.net since 98 until about 04 under the same name.. was going through some marriage issues.. and focused my energy on my marriage.. since being on corral ive changed ISP's which my account was linked to, forgot my PW for the site.. and have no way of retrieving or resetting the password.. sent several emails to site owner/admin.. all of which were never replied too. was lurking on this site and allfordmustangs for several months before joining..

so ill be here for a long time..

or until i get banned.. (ftr i've never been banned from anywhere)

There could be 10,000 cars they have to look at and possibly fix. Even if that took just one man hour for each car on average, you're looking at 250 work weeks to fix all of them. That would take a crew of 50 people five weeks to finish.
