Looks good. Dunno about the console....or not having any elbow support. I like having my arm resting on the console and be at the same height as the shift ****.

It looks like the console still has the armrest- it appears to me the back area is about the same height relative to the shifter in today's car. Maybe they filled it in between like the Nissan Z so there's no front edge of the lid to bump your elbow upon while shifting. i will check w/ my buddy @ Ford.

Cupholders?

So, do you think there are cupholders hidden away under that center console, or am I going to have to take my wife's car when I run out to pick us up some lunch?

I like the idea of higher quality materials and finish, and more tech in the console, but I do have to admit that I'm going to miss the raised, round, chrome vent rings. I love those!

I'll sit in it before I make any final judgments, but i'm with you. It doesn't look like it will be as comfortable as the current one.

Hopefully it's higher than it looks.

It looks like they are in the same spot as the current car but have a cover you can flip up to expose them.

Oh yeah, I'm sure that there are cup holders in there. Other Fords have this same lid on there. It might be a good idea, but then again, if the lid doesn't fold all the way into the side of the console, you might not be able to fit cups with handles in there.

Hey Ice, you can fit cups w/ handles inside today's car if you turn the handle toward the middle. I would think they kept that feature under the door.

Thinking...

I think the current (05-09) steering wheel will be in the base model without the Sync.
I think with Navi there will be a clock lower center ala Flex.

I hope there is a trunk release somewhere in there seeing that there's no key hole in the
rear faux gas cap.

Ditto. My worst nightmare right now with the 2010s is having the keyhole or backup camera in the spoiler like we speculated earlier.

BOTH can fit in the badge and they'd be rather discreet too...

Most new cars don't have keyholes in the rear anymore so if they moved the back up camera to
the spoiler it was probably to angle it better to the street. The 2010 badge is tilted back more than the current model...guess they only saw planes when they put it in reverse

If Ford did put the camera in the spoiler...Bad Move.
I, for one, like the no wing look and would like the back up system.
This will make it difficult to switch out to a aftermarket unit.
And aftermarket companies will have to make theirs to accommodate
this unit along with another that doesn't need it!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'm gonna have to find a better spot for it. Maybe by the license plate

I'm still going to hold out hope that they were just testing it there on the mule. If the shape of the rear really affects it that much, then they should just angle the camera down

The more I see this interior the more I like it, particularly the manner in which the gauge nacelles transition smoothly to the IP facade. It is modern and cool, sophisticated but not sterile.

Somehow that nice retro style they have with the current 2005 models is lost in the new model.

It all looks to new and to modern to me.

Maybe that is the way Ford wants to go with the Mustang.

Away from retro and now the captain future look...

That's because its the lowest base model available. Doesn't have any of the "dress-up" items...

It is also an early development mule with ungrained, uncolored parts. Remember the ones with the guy in sunglasses, driving with the cellphone? That had the aluminum dash panels.

Trust me, these are not the final colors or final materials. It will trash Camaro and Challenger ( and Genesis too. )
