What a waste of money restyling the current Mustangs front end. How about they give the Mustang Coupe some headroom (raise the roof!) so people besides midgets can ingress\egress without crunching down?
And Super-Handling-AWD would help easy those burnouts, too.
Wake-up FORD. We’re not all 5′9″. Maybe I don’t want to drive a convertable or an SUV all my life.
The only things worse in the world than lack-of-headroom are Daylight Savings Time (useless) and football or basketball(B.O.R.I.N.G.).

i have a strange feeling that the next gen mustang isnt going to look as good as the S197 model.
if its going the route of that guiargo styling, then it would have too many sleek euro accents and less american muscle look...
just my opinion....hard to beat the look of the current GT, shelby gt, and gt500....

Ok, so I've been looking at alot of 197 photos and looking at the spy shots. The front fenders definitely have more of a curved sweep then the 197, especially since the down sweep appears to start after the center of the wheel well. The 197 is almost a straight line from A Pillar to head lamp. Could the downsweep create a need for a hood bulge to clear the intake? I agree, it is more then likely padding, but just a thought.

Sure looks to me like this early R&T illustration (that was posted earlier in another thread). Notice the hood and how the two bumps appear in the camo at the leading edge of the hood on the Spy shot .... Also the fog lights and cutline along the lower grille kind of match....

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that is what the mustang will look like. It looks like they took an S197, and shaped the front end too look like the design. I don't think they built that thing fron scratch. Looks too much like a S197(and an ugly one at that, doesn't look agressive AT ALL).

Am I correct in thinking that the 09 is NOT the new model? Right! That got bumped to 10 didn't it. If I'm correct then no this isn't built from scratch, it is based on the 197 and it will look almost identical. 09 is just a freshening to try to hold out until the new issue can get released and compete with Challenger/Camaro. Typically a refreshening only entails new bumpers/fenders. Could be next generation SE's tho too.

Since 1982, I think Ford has always done a good job at facelifts and restyling when it comes to the Mustang. IMO, the styling never regressed.
My friend who saw the 09/10 Mustang up in Detroit said that he likes the current look of the Mustang better, but he said since I prefer a more aggressive look, that I may like the new one better.
