Did they put it on a rack and look at the rear end/transmission? Or was this just a walkaround estimate? They ALWAYS find more wrong once they get in there . . . my guess 17.5 turns into 20-22.5 by the time they are done.

Just a walk around unfortunately. I completely agree that it is going to increase. Really hoping I can get them to total it!

Not feeling very good about this, already scheduled time with an attorney monday to get the diminished value claim started if it comes to that.
I can come over with my buddies H1 and make it 25K if u want

Thats definitely a total, glad your OK. I would bet anything the frame crushed going towards the middle of the car (can't see it until its up on a lift), not sure if the frame is different on the 2010's but my 06 was in a similar accident (yours looks worse) and besides a bent rear axel the frame had crushed going toward the passenger side door (the autobody said its designed to do that). Best of luck to you!

I don't know whether to say sorry or congrats? So are you going to be able to get a new GT?

haha I'm torn myself, loved the car and put more than enough money in it for the whole 4 months I owned it. Bought it brand new, and with the payout I couldn't get another new one unfortunately

I'd love to buy another one, but I dunno if I want to fork over all that money again...

Honestly man you lost your car for something that is not your fault and now are mustang less and insurance is only paying for pennies on the dollar for the car now it's time for the "proper" health care.

a car that is only 4 months old and is considered totaled should be replaced by your insurance company. at a very limited diminished value. otherwise go after the person that rearended you for the difference.. my.02

glad you walked away..

This. I hope you have the best of luck. You lost your baby, why not get her back via a 'hurt' neck?:P
