I have a '12 V6 with the black, plastic mirrors. I just saw some mirror covers online that match the body color. Looks like they use adhesive to stick over the mirror. I'm wondering if this is what manufacturer does or if the mirror really is one piece that matches the body color, like on the pony edition and GT.

 

I can't say for sure if it's one piece or if the originals use stick-ons too. But if using adhesive to stick something on your car is what's bothering you, then stop worrying...3M automotive adhesive is good stuff. It's pretty widely used to stick d*mn near anything on a car. If you like the way it looks or if it looks exactly the same, go the cheaper route.
