Bad day for the 5.0 :(
Merging onto an onramp. Car in front stops real quick, I stop right behind her. Truck behind me isn't able to stop in time....annd the attached PDF shows the damage.
What says the forum, frame damage and a hopeful total?
I'm praying for as much here....

Ahhhh That sucks! Looks like you got pretty hard, I hope you are alright. I would hope for frame damage and a total loss. Its been my experience that once a car is hit that bad, its never right again. I am sorry for you....

thanks man, if they total it I'll be alright because I paid cash for it (or rather a trade in plus cash).
If they don't, this fight is going to get real annoying. Luckily my dealership can have the work done at a Ford dealership (sister dealership of where I bought it). so it should be like parts

OUCH. Hope you are alright. Hopefully the car is totaled and you can get a new one.

Hopefully they total it for you, I think it'll be close, just a guess.
That'd make a great donor vehicle for a Factory Five build!

(I have no interest in Factory Five other than being a fan)

Ouch. Glad you're OK. Too bad for your car though.
I had a new 3 series BMW several cars ago that looked about like that and the ins. co. had it repaired. Frame rails on a unibody are stamped sheet and they'll cut the bent sections out and weld in new ones. If it was several years old - or a base V6 - I don't doubt they'd total it (repair exceeds value), but being so new, I don't know.
What ever happens, good luck.

Another question for anyone that may have an opinion. Taking it to a dealership for the repairs, but they're associated with the insurance company (Progressive).
Is that a problem? I can't imagine it is, as I'd probably prefer a dealership doing the work anyways. Any opinion?
That's what I was afraid about keystone, guess we'll see...

It's a good thing you're okay, people aren't fixed as easily as cars. Look at this as an opportunity, maybe there was something you would've done different with this car, that you will do with your next one.
