average order wait time?

Hey guys, made a profile a long time ago, just never really posted. Name's Matt. I was closely following the 2015 news/leaks, but decided to pull the trigger on this this weekend after seeing some info:

2014 GT, Black, 6 speed, Brembos, Recaros, and 3.73 rear.

So I spoke to the dealer today, and they said the order was officially accepted with Ford today, 10/28. After reading through a decent amount of the pages, it seems like the average wait time, at least right now, is around a month and a half, maybe closer to two months in certain cases. I've also seen just a month and even 21 days for one person if I remember right! So right now, I don't have any real info, such as a VIN or anything, which is expected.

I guess I just want to see how long anyone thinks it may take with these options? As in do the Brembos and Recaros cause a slightly longer build time? I was told I'd have the car 100% before Christmas, which I can't complain about, I just hate playing the waiting game when it comes to this since I'm so excited. It's only been a day and I can't wait hahaha. Any input and info is appreciated and I can't wait to become more active on here. Thanks guys!

Hello Matt
Sounds like you are going to have a good looking ride soon. Probably not soon enough for you. What state do you live in? Obviously that will make a difference in the delivery time. My wife tells me to try not to think about it. YEA RIGHT!.
I ordered mine on Aug. 28th and last check with SVT it was last seen in Fort Madison Iowa. The blend date was 10/7/2013 the same as others on this forum but lucky for them they have them already. Mine sat at ramp 51 in Flat rock for 2 weeks before it was moving on the train. It has an eta of 11/1/2013 to 11/3/2013. About 95 days for me if it doesn't get held up for whatever reason. I live in Peoria Arizona right next to Phoenix. Yours hopefully will not take this long.
As far as the brakes and seats setting the time back or holding up production of the car I haven't heard of that being a problem. If a train is evolved with your delivery that seems to be (at least for me) the biggest problem. I'm hoping you beat the delivery of 21 days.
God speed
Mike

There is nothing better than that moment of "Yes, I am going to get a Mustang". But then there is nothing worse than the wait!

Can't wait to see pics. Heck doesn't sound like you are too far away. Our horses may cross paths someday.

I don't feel the Recaros are slowing mine down. It is moving right along on pace with others here.

What's your blend number? Mine is 3702, scheduled for 11/4. The blend number is the 4 large numbers to the right of 'blend' on the sticker.

The blend number is the identifying sequence number used in assembly. It is a number assigned to each vehicle to track it through production. The different parts for various trim levels/options all are assigned to a specific blend before the parts hit the line. That is how the factory makes sure the options you ordered get put on your car. Wire harnesses, seats, wheels, engines, transmissions, etc. all have a barcode sticker with the blend number for the vehicle they belong to. The numbers are recycled and go from 0 to 9999.

Mine is 3922. So, for those interested, the whole number is 1201311043922

I'm still working on finding out what time of the day mine will be built to see if I'm able to make it in there. The VIN hasn't been released to body assembly yet but I'm making headway with communicating with the right people.

JohnX3 I'll keep an eye out for your vehicle if I make it to watch mine go through final assembly.

That would be awesome if you spotted it. I'll PM my VIN just in case it might help.

Pictures and videos are against plant rules unfortunately. I may get lucky and be able to get a picture or two, but it will be hard to swing a video.

That being said, I am in that plant about every other month and I am in awe every single time seeing all those Mustangs.

My car entered body assembly at 11:31 this morning. It should hit main production between 8 and 10 Monday morning. I'm hard as a rock.

Edit - It actually hit body at 9:06 10/31 and hit paint 11:31 11/1! Yeah baby!
