in my smalltown, our dealerships don't even get one till mid November. I haven't seen one in person yet, but I've seen PLENTY of pictures and videos to know that I suspect that despite my in-person view, I will still prefer the old school muscle look of the S197s and before.

I haven't had a chance to sit in a 2015 but what I can see from the window - it looks like the doors are still hard plastic except for the inserts and the fake engine turned panels look exactly that - fake - I'll take my aluminum although i would prefer real carbon fiber trim. The console is a much better design through. I really don't like the Fusion front and the back looks like a simpler (cheaper to manufacture) version on the 2014. The larger rear fender flares do look neat. All the pictures I've seen of the 5.0 engine compartment look like they used cheaper materials on the intake covers too compared to the 2014s.

From my looking, you have to go all the way to the premium WITH the 50th anniversary appearance to get the soft touch upper door panel. But the cup holder surround is still hard. Someone said in one of the '15 threads that the premium plus the 'premier trim' gets the soft touch doors... but I haven't seen that yet. As a whole, I like the '15 in person... the front for sure looks a whole lot better in person. Still think it looks 'wrong' in photos... from pretty much every direction. I never liked the rear end of the '13/14... so to my eye, the '15 rear end would be completely sweet if they'd get rid of that black panel. I hate that.

I might go check one out this weekend at my local dealer. I think they have a couple in stock.

I distinctly remember that :-) glad I got my 05 and not the 04 I almost purchased but the 14 is a completely different animal compared to the 15. Unlike the 04 to the 05.

Of course there will be people who will like the new Mustang, Ford could slap a Mustang badge on a Fiesta (God forbid) and some people will like it, just not the same people who liked the previous version, many of those buyers will be lost. I don’t think it’s a matter of fans of the 14’s “warming up” to the 15’s, it will more likely be new buyers discovering the redesigned Mustang or even former Mustang owners lost after the last redesign. The question is, will there be as many buyers of the new Mustang as there were for previous version, only time will tell.

Which really made it no harder to steel, but the button was also steel and due to age the button no longer worked like it should and was occasionally hard to push. Nobody in their right mind would have stolen it anyways. Cops could have picked up that truck out of a line up from 2 miles away.
Yes that’s true, and in the 60’s Chrysler had push button transmissions which also seems to be making a comeback, it’s just not for me. I need to turn a key to start an internal combustion engine and manually shift the power to the rear wheels of my car, when I can’t do that anymore, I will take a bus.

Do they know you'll be taking it to a track for the test drive?

Its funny we go through this every time there is a design change. It takes all the mustang fans a little while to warm up to the new design. Nobody liked the design of the 2010 oh I'll keep my 05 but give me the 5.0. Same when they changed it for 13. Now everybody is thrilled they have a 13-14 and are passing on the 15. By 2016 everybody will be on board.

I finally got to see the new 15 in person the other day and I'm glad that I bought the 14. I like the look of the 15 a little better than I did at first but I still think the 14 looks better. I have not gotten to drive the 15 yet so I don't know if anything about that would win me over.

I sat in one yesterday and nothing about it says Mustang to me. I was hoping it would look better in person.

Actually, I really liked the new body styles in '94, '99, '05, '10... Ford just missed the mark on this one. If they hadn't made a big deal out of saying it would be an "all new Mustang" I would have been okay. The problem was listening to all the talk of how "revolutionary" the '15 would look- only to have them basically throw a Fusion front end on what basically looks like the same car otherwise.

Stopped by a dealer with my wife (to look at F150s) the other day, and she said "Hey, is that supposed to be the new Mustang? I don't like it very much." I thought that summed it up pretty well!

Ford is getting so cheap they even robbed the rubber sleeve that, used to be on the 2010 hood rod so, I took a piece of fuel line & sliced it on one side and wallah. how friggin cheap can u get Ford just, for a simple piece of rubber so we don't burn our hands when propping up hood.

Happy with my 2014

I'm sure the 2015 has a lot of cool features... But it would really suck if all us 2014 owners all of sudden hated our cars and wanted to sell in favor of a 2015.

Isn't that the only way to properly "road test" it?

I too, finally saw a 2015 in person. It was following right behind me, driving home from work. I can now legitimately say, it is as ugly in person as it is in pictures.

I didn't like the '05-'09 Mustangs when they came out and still don't. I bought a used '06 convertible for my wife and hated it. I did not come around until I saw the '13 Boss in the showroom.

My initial reaction to the '15 is much like the '05. I don't think I'll grow to like it even though I still might buy one. There's just not a whole lot of competition in this category to choose from at this price point. I just hope that there is a complete restyling of the front and rear ends of the car before I'm ready to purchase.

I think I'm the same way. I LOVED the 2000-2004 look. I really didn't like the 2005-2009. I think it was too retro for me. I liked 2010+, particularly the 13-14. I felt like this is the perfect balance of modern/retro look. I waited to see the 2015 pictures/renders and I did not like it nearly as much as I liked the 13-14. So I ordered one. Really glad I got my car in time. I hope the 2017 or 2019 re-design will be better.

I have the opposite opinion, I hated the 2000-2004, liked the 05-09 and wasn't fond of the 2010-2012. I agree that the 13-14 was a good balance of retro and modern. When it comes to the '15, I think its a good progression away from the all retro look of the 05-09. Its more of a sports/muscle/pony car than the muscle/pony car look of the 05-14's.
