The 2013 Mustang is officially here!
Wow. Where to even start...I did not expect that drastic of a styling change, nor so many huge performance upgrades, especially for the GT-500. I love it all, but I'll point out one thing I haven't seen anyone else mention - the rocker panels are now body-colored, which is my least favorite part about the styling of my '11.
Now, I hope all these great changes move the sales needle back where it should be around 100K a year and ahead of the Camaro/Challenger.
You think the guys at GM Performance are shaking their heads and going back to the drawing board this morning?

Love the rear end of the shelby- i think that will be in my future swap out.
I already had my rocker panels painted to match the body
Can't believe all these changes- this would have been nice for 2011 lol
Ford did awesome!!!!

In my opinion this whole generation of Mustang has never photographed well. I agree that the GT's fog light setup looks a little off. But I'm willing to bet it looks awesome in person. I felt the same way about the 2005 when it was revealed but when I saw it for myself I was sold.
This car will look awesome in black.

What no California Special? LOL . I was looking at used 2011's but not anymore. I wonder if this will lower the ADM on the Boss? With the 500 so strong and the GT with the Track pack, Torsen, Recaro and and Brembo's the Boss prices should be more reasonable. The dealer here was asking $53,000 for one with no options.
I like the smaller fog lights also how hard could it be to fit the 6's lights on a GT? And Roush, Steeda with have to come up with something. This year is really amazing.

Yeah, Roush/Saleen/SMS have to hate this - the factory versions are getting so good and so powerful, that there's not much those aftermarket guys can do anymore, IMO.
One thing I haven't seen yet is any power increase on the V6 - with that incredible 350 HP figure getting announced by Hyundai for the new Genesis coupe, Ford and GM have some catching up to do, but maybe Ford's going to wait for the 2015 to debut a better V6 and maybe an EcoBoost 4 too?

My thoughts, being a 2012 GT owner, I'm impressed but not enough to trade up for one.
Dislikes - Front end, I prefer the sharper edges with the CS/boss splitter on the 10-12s. Also, I'm not a big fan of the headlights I think they are too "busy".
Likes - Track package options that transfered from the boss, leather recaros (even though I haven't seen a pic), new gauges, rear end.
My take - Ford did a great job and I think this will keep sales up till the 2015 hits. For me nothing here is really worth the cost to upgrade if you already have an 11-12 5.0. I hope the tail lights are a direct fit, it looks like they could be but maybe not. I would be willing to spend the $ to swap the full rear if not. As for the track apps in the gauges I think 10-12 owners are going to be SOL unless they want to replace the full guages and steering wheel. Seems like a really cool feature but would be very $$$$ to swap.
Anyone planning on trading up?

I agree it creates pressure for them. However is they are smart they will continue to play to exclusivity of their brands and the uniqueness they can bring.
