Been watching the pix and specs for a few days now and I've made up my mind: I don't like the 2013 one bit. Everything I loved about the 2010-12 they managed to screw up:
- New taillights look cheap and tuner like, collect dust and the gloss finish scratches like hell
- Trunk lid trim plate gloss finish scratches like hell too
- Painted rocker panels make the car look pig belly fat from the side

All in all the refresh of the 2013 Mustang is more than subtle. With all its updating it should stand out as the most unique of all the S197s running only one model year. Being old school, I still prefer the look of my 2009 C/S. That being said I really like the improvements to the rear fascia and would prefer the fogs to be on the lower bumper and not on the grille. And the 2013 Shelby is simply an animal. At the end of the day, of all the pony cars, the Mustang will always be the one. Quite frankly i'm still not getting it with the new Gen 5 Camaro. It's been an interesting generation for the Mustang and IMHO Ford did a great job of winding it down the way they did.

I like the taillights although I had no problems with them before....the problem I have now is how tall the front end looks...it just doesn't seem to have that low, mean stance that the 2010-2012 had...
I like the 2013 a lot more. I was waiting to be really disappointed but surprisingly I am not. That front end looks great. The Boss looks fantastic. And the Shelby is better than Viagra. The tails are just ok. But it's better than the 12. Can't wait to see it in person.

Like others have said ... Ford should have left the GT500 front end on the GT500. The 2010-2012 Front Clip with the 2013 RearEnd would have been a perfect Mustang.
The Front of the Mustang now looks too such like a Dodge Charger ...
I've always preferred the blacked out valances and side skirts of the 2007-2009 GT500's ... and the 2010-2012 Mustangs. All of the body colored parts make the car look squat and fat.

Heres my idea for a new project. Get a rear fascia kit from ford and put it on my '12 v6. Get the gloss black bits painted in a flat black finish, put a lil night shade on the switchbacks in the middle. Leave the front as is or maybe get the '11-12 gt/cs or maybe saleen front fascia. Halo projector headlights and bam, exterior perfect(:
Wow, Ford will let you order a V-6 Premium with leather Recaro seats....anybody want to bet on the rarity of that package combination? Might make for an interesting comparison with the new Hyundai though, spec'd out with all the performance goodies and the Recaro seats.
