I'm asking this just because I'm curious. Will the '12 MY be made for close to 2 years and then the 13 will be closer to the real calendar year?

If Ford continues on the cycle of the past 3 years, it would seem that 12 months from now, people would be ordering MY '13 Mustangs for production and delivery in 1st quarter calendar year 2012.

It does keep it ahead of the Camaro, but maybe they're more concerned with generating hype without directly competing with Camaro hype, as this would fall in a time period when the 2011 Camaro marketing blitz is mostly done, and yet fall well before any 2012 Camaro hype starts up.

I mean the Camaro is still the Mustang's main competitor. The fact that it can compete with a BMW M3 is just icing on the cake, but it'll probably be a while before Mustangs start to get seated in the mindset as an M3 competitor. I mean the new Mustang hasn't proven its reliability yet while BMW does have proven relia-... wait a minute...
LOL - I was starting to think, wait a minute and then I saw the end of your post. As someone who's owned both a Mustang and a 3 Series I'd have to say I spend way more money maintaining the BMW than I ever spent on the Mustang. Mind you I've kept the 3 Series in much better condition than the Mustang, but in terms of reliability I think Ford is significantly ahead of BMW.

My '12 GT is now scheduled to be built the week of January 17th and ETA to arrive at our dealership February 1st. Our last new 2011 GT is scheduled to arrive January 29th, so there is virtually no gap between 11's and 12's arriving.

I wish you luck in the possible attainment of said car. Your '07 is very nice, and the new '12 would be nice too.

Seems like there will be quick changeover.

All I really want is for my car to be there on feb. 25th like I wanted. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they failed to successfully submit my order at any point in the ten months they had to do it, but whatever. Letting me keep my '11 rebates is, frankly, the least they could do. For some reason they're saying they won't be able to get a VIN until after the new year, and the earliest delivery date they can get is april 1st! That's too late, man. I can probably buy an '11 cheaper from a US dealer at that point.

Hawkeye, I feel your pain but you have to look at the good side. You are getting a deal that no one will be getting. I don't know how the dealer can honor the 11 rebates on a 12, but they did take you through the ringer, so i bet they are eating the cost. I had the same issue, however i tried ordering mine in nov 11, and they said they could only order a 12 at that point, and they would give me the 11 pricing. When i asked about loosing the 11 rebates because they didn't get the order in, they said they would give me whatever rebates were available on the 11, when the 12 is delivered. I hope they weren't blowing smoke, but i am skeptical to say the least. Your getting a 2012 in early 2011, so that will help with resale when it comes time (upgrade in 14 maybe) cause your on a newer model year, plus no issues with the early 2011 clutches etc. IMO. Enjoy your ride when it comes, you've earned it.

Oh, go leave your rifle in porta-potty.

I should probably clarify that I am in no way complaining that I got a 2012. I'm just a bit nervous; they've already messed up my order once...

Sounds like most people are having a bad experience with AAFES/ENCS which makes me VERY nervous about buying from them...

I wouldn't say I'm having a bad experience. The fact of the matter is, I ordered a car in February for a delivery date 13 months away; one can't really blame them for not hopping all over my order. The guy here that I've been dealing with, Aidan (they're all Irish, every last one of them), has been exceptionally nice and pleasant to deal with, and has bent over backward to help me out. The back office has also been very nice, if a bit unprepared.

And, it's not like they're not hookin' me up; I'm getting a 2012 for 2011 pricing + rebates. So that's pretty sweet. The delivery date is my only concern at this point. They say they'll do everything they can to get me the first '12 they can, and I believe them. I'm sure it'll all work out fine...

And it's still 100x better than dealing with a dealer.

Yea, my overall experience with ENCS isn't bad. I just kind of had a crappy time line with the short 11 MY and having an 18 month deployment. They don't want me to order yet because they don't have finalized pricing and I would just have to come back in and sign again once it was finalized. I'm just impatient and want it now.

Minimal if any. Search 05fordGT's and/or Five_Oh_Brian's posts, one of them has written about it recently.

Thanks! I see on the ford site it appears about 500 in customer cash plus some decent financing. I am going to order my 2012 vert tomorrow or monday so I was just curious what is out there. I wonder if Ford is still doing that 750 preferred customer coupon thing some folks got in the mail as well? I should have my car the first of Feb so it would be nice to get another 1200-1500 off the already reduce xplan pricing

It's a '12 Lava Red GT Premium Coupe with Charcoal/Lava Leather. 5.0L, Automatic, 18" Polished Wheels, Rearview Camera, Comfort Package, and GT Package 1 (decklid blackout panel, side scoops, and side window louvers).

If I am somehow able to buy it, then it would replace my '07 GT and be a daily driver with minor mods and occasional bracket racing. I probably won't be buying it and it'll just go on the lot available for sale. I order a new Mustang for myself every year, but only actually buy one every several years, so this is nothing new for me. Psychotic behavior, perhaps, but I think it keeps me sane!
