FWIW, the visors and homelink (I'm assuming it'll be either integrated into the visor or the map light thingy) should be a matter of minutes to retrofit, and not that expensive.

The stone parts would be a little more difficult, but still doable.

The EPAS... idunno how you'd do that without a little hacking. TBH, it's all programming anyway. I bet you could retrofit it somehow.

Yeah, but like Jason mentions below, some of it shouldn't be too difficult. Plus you couldn't have gotten Sterling. Sterling was going to be my choice if I didn't get GB

Exactly... its not like we have to swap engines to be like the 12's.

Little comfort things wont be hard to add.

Sterling grey was the only reason we jumped on the 11's - so glad we heard that color was gone for 12 before it was to late.

Just ordered a 2012 Mustang GT Lava Red!! My first new car. I have always gone used before. Any updates about ordering, building, Lava Red, or the new seat color will be greatly appreciated.

I'm going to be totally insane here, but when does job 2 start? I'm probably going to end up ordering around then because I have an internship coming up and I really wouldn't want my car coming in just to sit around outside. Plus where I'm living now isn't the greatest, it's in a garage but it's a community garage and very filthy. I figure by job 2 I'll be settled.

Does Job 2 make any difference? No announcements yet as to any significant changes for 2012 Job 2 yet so what difference does it make? I mean, when you are ready to order, then just order it. It's not like they only build cars twice a year, they build them almost all year long.

Congrats on your oder. I will be ordering a GT in either gb or lava red. I want to see the lava interior before I make my decision. What options did you get?

Thanks, I am so excited. My wife would much prefer it if I waited and saved for a "classy" car like BMW or Mercedes , but I think she is a little nuts to want to buy a luxury car rather than the Mustang. I won and got the 2012 Mustang in Lava Red with the new Plum/Charcoal?? (or Lava red?) seats in the GT premium. I like the plain black and the black/red interior, but I think it worth the risk ordering these, because they sound like they should be done really well, and it will give a different type of look than is available currently. I also got the 3.55 manual transmission, HID, Security System, and reverse sensing system. I saw someone on this (or another?) forum write that this reverse sensing might help avoid large toys and bikes left by kids in the garage. I am not sure how useful that will be, but since I am already spending this much on a car, I might as well get that feature.

I did not get the Brembo brakes, because I drive as slow as an old lady (most of the time ), and I would rather go aftermarket for the brakes. I also did not get any tape stripes, as I want to possibly either get a two tone paint job based on Lava Red, or tape stripes later, depending on what I decide on.

It depends on trim level and interior color. Stone roof is available only in vinyl so only on V6 (base and premium) and base GT. Premium GT convertibles get black cloth tops regardless of paint color. Also, the stone top is only available with the stone or charcoal black interior and not with the saddle or lava red interiors.

Thanks WhiteBird00 - I am ordering a premium GT vert with Brick Red interior so I will be getting the black cloth top.

Congrats on the order! I am ordering a GT premium in Jan and hope to take delivery around April. I am going with Blk/Blk 401A,3.73,Brembos,glass roof, and the dark brushed grill and lower front fascia(to add fog lights later)Anyone have an opinion on the Shaker 1000 stereo? Is it worth the $1295 over the Shaker 500?

I have heard a multitude of people say that the 1000 is not worth the price over the 500.

The dealer I just went to is one of the largest in CT and he doesn't even show lava red as a color yet. Nor can he execute a 2012 order yet. I find it dubious that anyone has already put in an order for one. Not to say a dealer wouldn't TAKE your order, I just highly doubt its gone anywhere but the salesman's filing cabinet.

It's not dubious at all; the 2012 Mustang order banks are open and 100% functional now.

Brian, I am looking to place my order right after the Holidays (Early Jan). Is it still looking like production will start for Job#1 on 1/18? Are the incentives the same for the new model or will they hold off since it is a new model year? Is the GT Premium coup starting at $33k? Thanks, i cant wait to get the order in and hope she is done by early spring. I heard the prices will be released around Dec 9th
