Since I am buying one, I consider it only fair to see what it looks like before I get too far in the ordering process. That would be very nice if you could post one. Or you could PM a picture to me and I would promise not to let anyone else see it .
Hi Itravelalot,

I researched this information for you and the pictures for the 2012 Mustang will not be published until about February 2011. However, I found an F-150 Harley Davidson Edition with that same Lava Red on www.ford.com. Please look at pics#9 and #19. These may give you an idea of what your Mustang will look like. The link is below:

Hope this helps

Can't wait to see it in person on a '12 Mustang! "...Lava, a deep maroon with three-color metal flake."

Option Code 944 (GT Accessory Package #4 / hood scoop and pedastal spoiler) are factory installed, so they'll be painted and on the car before it gets to the dealership. MSRP is $750. Invoice is $653.

I am thinking of ordering the dark stainless front grill and lower front fascia. Does Ford offer fog lights for the lower fascia or is that an aftermarket? It looks like the holes are drilled but I did not see them offered. Waiting to order first week of Jan. Thanks

This is what I did with mine...it requires an adaptor to fit the grill on and the foglights are a separate purchase from the lower fascia. It will have to be done after delivery by the dealer (or bodyshop). Looks awesome and I will hopefully post some pics when I get around to it.

As a side note, I have stock GT premium parts if anyone wants them (grill, foglights, lower fascia, 401a shift ****, and mufflers).

Pardon my ignorance, but those that have ordered how did it work without pricing? Do you just put $500 down or so and then you go to the table when the car is in? I will be ordering first week of Jan. Just getting my ducks in a row. I assume there really isnt any incentives other than if you have a brochure coupon or union/military rebate??

I ordered before the dealers could actually submit the order, but after the pricing started showing up online. I talked to two dealers and they both were able to give a pretty good idea at a final price. They knew that the GT premium was $200 more for the 2012 model, and all the rest of the options already had prices in the computer. When I ordered it, they were able to commit in writing to give a $1000 Costco discount, even though I am not sure that the Costco prices are out yet. It is worth paying for a membership if you can get a sure discount. (The Chevy Dealership was not willing to give any Costco discount for the 2011 Camaro). They also should know x-plan pricing, if you can get an w-plan pin. I did not yet have an x plan pin when I ordered, but the dealership gave me a reasonable out the door price they would not go over that included tax and all other fees they charge. When I paid my $500, that supposedly locked in the price. There were no dealer incentives for 2012 they knew about when I ordered, so they wrote on the contract that they would give any dealer incentives available in addition to the price quoted as of the time the car is delivered to them. I cannot complain because everything is going well so far. They still have not told me if the car has a scheduled build date yet. I really do not know much about the ordering process or if I should bug them more to get it scheduled or not. If I had it to do again, I would have at least checked to see if any of the dealers on the forum would have worked with me on ordering one and drop shiping it to me, but what is done is done.

I could have had them order and build a 2011 at the time I ordered the 2012, and I am sure that it would have had better incentives, but I wanted a 2012 in Lava Red. Everything is going well so far, and although I do not know exactly what it will look like, I am very excited to get my first new car.

Pricing is in Fact in. As far as incentives go, you get what is in place at Delivery Date, not order date. (Unless you have a prearrangement with your dealership.)

My 2012 has been Ordered. Has been accepted. And as soon as FORD grants the "OK to BUY" on the reail orders they have accepted, it will be scheduled. As of today, the only retail 2012 Mustangs being scheduled are the Shelby and BOSS ordered.

Lava Red is pretty much identical to the color I made up when the 2010 custom configurator first came out! I also did a pearl white. IMO, pearl white would look really good on the 2010+.
