Hey bud, the Brembos are ONLY on manual cars. And the CS package consists of GT500 rear bumper, enhanced bumper with lower foglights, billitt grill with NO fog lights, side scoops, pedistal spoiler, trunk blackout panel, carbon style inserts in the seats, carbon style dash panel and a few others that I may have missed of the top of my head.
Thanks Jeff! I would be ordering a manual transmission. I know sometimes certain performance upgrades are only available on the coupe.
In the July 2009 issue of Car and Driver they tested the 2010 Mustang GT with Track Pack, 2010 Camaro SS, and the 2009 Challenger R/T. Here's what they said about the Camaro with it's famous Brembo brakes.
"If not quite the bolter we had expected, the Camaro SS carves nice squiggles, with tamped-down body motions, tacky grip, and a brake pedal so firm and responsive that we checked it for a Porsche part number."
Sounds great, here's what they said about the Mustang:
"The Ford stops in the same distance as the megabraked Camaro (162 feet), and it returned the best fuel economy (17 mpg) despite having the shortest gear ratios of the three cars."
Granted, that's the Mustang with Track Pack, but it sounds like the upgraded pads and front calipers from the 2010 Track Pack will be standard issue for the 2011 GT. I'm not trying to talk anybody out of the Brembo brake package. If you are a very hard-core driver and get to play on a track from time to time, go for it. I'm just saying that the GT out of the box ought to be pretty **** satisfactory for the majority of drivers. It would have been a needless extra cost to make the Brembo package standard equipment.

I want the Brembo Pkg for 2 reasons: 1) I like the way the bigger rotors and painted calipers look; 2) I love the wheels that come with it. For $1600 MSRP, 19" wheels, Pirelli tires and 4pot Brembo calipers/14" rotors is a screaming deal. I'm interested to see if it actually improves braking, but you're right, on the street you wouldn't notice much. On a track you would, with (hopefully) decreased fade.
does the brembo package officially have the summer only pzeros that used to be in the track pack? I like the idea of brembo brakes but some might want to keep the all weather capabilities of the standard pzero neros
The P-Zeros on the Brembo package wheels are the high performance summer only tires. Same as on the 2010 track pack. I believe they are also standard on the Camaro SS. Looking at the camaro forums it does not appear that people have too many problems driving them in less than summer conditions.
Don't think you'll be rolling in snow on PZero summer tires. They're not friendly. Do yourself and everyone else on the road a favor and get a set of all-seasons or a second set of wheels and winter tires if you're in the northern areas.
my 2010 has the std all season pzero neros on it and i have been in rain, snow, whatever with minimal issues, im pretty sure the pzero summer only would not be able to handle snow
I got a crash course in tires after buying my MS6 with a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE050As on it in the middle of January. First sign of light snow or ice and the car got scary, even with AWD. I bought Pirelli all-seasons to replace those Potenzas and the car is fine now.

Look at the braking distances for a V6 Camaro RS, which has the same tires as the SS but vanilla brakes - vs. the SS with the Brembos. They are pretty much identical. Fade resistance under track conditions is what the Brembos get you.

If you say so. I'm not an expert on this topic but I would think that the amount of traction your tires deliver would be the limiting factor in braking distance, at least until you've reached the point where the brakes overheat. I'm not trying to talk anybody out of the brake upgrade. I'm just disputing the notion that Brembo brakes are necessary and should have been standard equipment on the Mustang GT.
I'm saying they should be standard on the Mustang GT strictly comparing R/T to SS to GT standard equipment. But it does make me happy to hear the GT will have upgraded 13.2" rotors. I may have to drive them both first to see if the Brembo's feel is worth it. The looks and wheel/tire package are worth it to me though.
