I really appreciate that they smoothed out the wheel arches. That always was one of those little design features that really bugged me. I still wish they had eliminated the "fat lip" of the wheel wells and made it look a little more like the small crease seen on the Challenger.

 

I like the edges of the 05 wheel well better in the pics. I like the 99 year vs the 94 due to the less smooth and bubbly look. Edgier is my pref.

 

it almost looks like they tried too hard to improve it....

like they are trying to make it look more futuristic or something...

 

no i wasent comparing the dam 422 hp i was comparing the 550 yanko challanging the 500 if one came out

 

I worry that they will do that even more with the total change in 2012-14. They did retro, so they will really update, thats my prediction.

 

 

The GT500 weighs 3900 pounds, no?

 

The CURRENT GT500 weighs (in coupe/base no shaker form) around 3825
It'll probably go on a diet, and won't stay at 500hp....

The Z28 would have/could weigh in excess of 4000+lbs

so you think the gt500 is going on a diet? i doubt their be any power diff and i dont see ford droping the weight by much...
but if they do they need to loose a few hundred

 

Just curious Adam, but why do you think they'd leave the GT500 at 500hp? Its going to be a new body, very foreward thinking, I sincerely doubt they are going to leave the powerplant untouched.

With the 1999 reskin , they added 20hp to the Cobras, and continued to improve upon it often. Most major changes in the Mustang's history also improved upon the engine. I for one would be surprised if we didn't see some sort of power increas in ford's top dog Mustang. Gotta keep on showing up the competition.

 

Word. I see a weight drop and a power increase the GT500's future. Maybe not in 2010 though...hopefully...

 

i just dont see one in 2010 and the only way i see a power increase is when the new 5.0 comes out. well Arin well have to wait and see. If they do bump the power it be awsome. But giving it 20 more horse would be nice...

most of it is hear say until Ford comes out with the power numbers...until then, it's pure speculation...

 

That comparison shot tells me that it's highly doubtful the hood for the 2010 GT will be a plug & play for the '05-'09

 

Most of what's being said is a small 10-15hp boost.

 

The next teaser comes out wednesday.
