If we know about the 5.0 in 2011 then GM knows. I bet they already have a plan for it. The 2011 SS will come with 450hp just wait and see.

i really dont see any other way of them putting that car on a diet by 2011 but it be a good race for the gt and ss and the challanger on the other hand needs a big diet. Its almost like rosie o donald running a sprint to be first its not happining and im way bored

Hey Russell, the whole "new car, old engine till next year" deal is what they are doing for all Ford cars. It was on the Escape 1st (2008 re-fresh has same engines, while the 2009s have the new updated, more powerful engines, with 6-speeds). Flex is the same, as EcoBoost is next year. I guess they want to make sure the car has less chances with glitches on a car that is both new and with a new engine, if both items were new. With only the interior/exterior is new, but motor is the same as current, less issues I guess. I am pulling at strings though, lol.

This car is going to look so **** sweet!!!!! I have heard rumors of Ford still using the 4.6 but a modded version capable of about 350-375 horepower. Does anybody here think that this motor is achievable in production form. Seems like it would need to be particularly high end to get those kinda numbers?

The great thing about the new Camaro SS is that it has 420 HP in MT trim (400 in AT trim, due to the cylinder deactivation), and it weighs roughly 300 pounds less than the Challenger SRT8. If a Camaro SS and Challenger SRT8 got involved in a race on a drag strip, I know where my money's going!
