2010 Mustang Tail-lights and Spoiler Uncovered.
FINALLY!!! Someone has actually looked at the lamps and made the connection w/ the 69-70, instead of all the flaming against the 2010 design just cause it didn't look like the 2005 ( actually, I always though the current ones look cross-eyed with both white lamps pointing toward the middle of the car. )
It would be cost-prohibitive to create a second lamp assembly and a second wiring harness to put a separate back up lamp in the bumper. The current Mustang ( and most other cars ) do it in a single lamp housing and I am sure the designers were restricted to a single lamp assembly on the 2010 as well. Looks like a clever way to get the separate three tailamp look while integrating the backups. Cool by me. And from the cameraphone pix, they look sweet lit up!

I also think the camo is detracting from the lens. All the white splotches are pulling the clear lens out more. I would like to see some black trim around the cells. Also, I still think the after market companies could make some really interesting upgrade with this configuration.
For all you know, that 'spoiler' could be a piece of cardboard with Camouflage material over it acting as camouflage itself.
Agreed

I agree totally... While the rear still has to grow on me and without seeing the entire car I cannot pass judgement...
Anyway nothing looks right but the actual classic lettering...
Interesting use of classic back-up lamps...
Hey TX, not trying to crack, you're entitled to your feelings, but can you elaborate on why you feel the 2010 tailight is so ugly, and why the 2005-09 is so much more attractive?
And what happened the exhaust tips? Looks like they're plugged up like the banana in Beverly Hills Cop.
Not for me. I like the 2010. They are a new take on the old look. I think when the car is revealed, and we see them driving around, we'll all like them.
Different shot - although you can't tell in this pic, it had side exhausts. And I agree about the gas cap...
The stock back-up lights were removed and a piece of clear red plastic was glued over the hole. Didn't look bad from a distance, but up close, well, I would have cut a reflector section from another set of tail lights and used that rather than a clear red piece. But, everyone is a critic.

But you're right everyone is a critic. The nice thing about Mustang and what makes it so successful is the easy ability to mod it to your personal taste, even if you don't have any.
