Get the car rekeyed. If you don't know the guy you bought the car from, he might have a copy of the key.

What Pat said , sounds like you have a copy cut and if someone has the original you may just wake up with no car ! at least then you'll get a key code so if you loose that's all you will need to get a proper cut.

How much would getting it rekeyed cost? I know the guy who sold me the car and am not worried about him, but there being so many things that the key doesn't work for and so forth just worries me.

Well it was timed right, I just don't understand why it's acting up... The fuel filter is back in so starting it still has the normal burble, but the seats were too much of a hastle to get done yesterday, I need to drill new holes for them, and since I "cleaned" (pictures soon) the garage it is kinda hard to find... anything. Except the car, but that is only because it takes up like 90% of the open space between all the clutter.

Good to have her in a decent place to work though, instead of out by the curb. Definitely needs a good wash though... Anyone know some good looking girls in the area while the girlfriend is gone? Maybe we could get a little bikini car wash goin on at my house.

Don't tell Andrea, Arin!

Carpet fell through though, so if anyone knows of someone in the bay area looking to part out an SN95 with black interior, give me a heads up.

Blue notch, I feel your pain. It took me 10 hours today to make this much progress...

And just for you Arin: (that spray enamel stuff is potent stuff by the way...)

I know a house rekeying costs about $5 per lock. So I would think a car would be about $30-$40 per lock... Much harder to rekey a car, unless you take the locks out and bring them to the dealer...

I would be up for that if anyone would like to give me a play by play on how to get the locks out.

Sounds good to me.

IT STARTED TODAY!

A couple times actually...

Only got it on video once though, kinda explains my symptoms better than I can. Please ignore the fact that I'm not using a key to turn it on....

You know what? I'm happy. Especially since half way through God sent us relief in the form of... get this... a check engine light.

That means it has codes!

I don' really have any help with the solutions.. but thats hella weird.

I don't even want to think about taking apart the doors and playing with the lock mechanisms.

good luck dude

No need to wish me luck. I'll probably make you do it when you come down so I have someone to blame.

Alright well now I think it is definitely a problem. The whole computer thinking the key is in all the time made the battery drain completely in just about two weeks.

Anyone have a solution short of bringing it to the dealer and having them look?
