+1. Much easier. Oh well, what's done is done. Now you've got a cool project for the summer.

Bah, took us four hours to put the dang thing back together. Tried to start her up when we got a battery and I don't think it's getting spark. Oh well, we'll be renting the reader tomorrow to see if we can get something out of it. Can't say I wasn't somewhat distracted today though... Arin, this is why you need to come assist me (do things for me) because then they would get done in a timely manner rather than me attempting to teach a chica. They just don't understand.

haha

I'll remember that next time... haha. Hopefully "next time" will still be a long ways off. Unless that means I am getting another car... cause I wouldn't mind that.

Which one did you have with you this time?? More importantly, why any at all. I know, scenery is nice sometimes, but you need to focus boy. You realize it's only going to get you killed. Remember what happened last time?????

Madre wants me to clean the room, Nay I say. We'll see how it goes lol. My best friend up here is out of town.. er.. continent.. for the next week and a half so I might have spare time to come do stuff.

It was Andrea, if you're still wondering.

Anyway, gasoline does not taste good, incase any of you were curious.
So the spark plugs were all in the wrong order, so I moved them to how they are actually supposed to be. Then my dad decided that this would be a good time to replace the fuel filter above the right rear axle. So I crawled underneath the car with Andrea (yes I know, "the same girl?" yes. She's the official one, so it's mandatory for a good long while ) watching and laughing at my hardships. So I disconnect the end that fuel is being pushed out of, at which point a ton of it falls, but my speedy quick reflexes help to get me out of the way quick enough. Then for the other side... So I undid the little squeeze/pull thing (you'd know what I'm talking about if you've had to use one) then try to outsmart the system by moving the filter to the right (input side) so that it would pour next to me... which worked right up until the actual line itself poured all over my face. Bleh. Mouthful of gasoline.

Hopefully we'll have this running soon because we got it to burble a little bit. I'll update in a bit.

Haha, which was completely what I already had except you told me it clockwise instead of counterclockwise... Your "help" with the distributor wiring order wasn't very helpful either since the "1" position on this new distributor wasn't anywhere near 12 o'clock.

You were still wrong. 302's from 94 on were all the same firing order as a 351. So 13726548. Not even close Arin.

It does have spark, by the way. Right now the fuel filter is out to be replaced, then we'll get back to work. Carpet might get in today, which will be a nice replacement to the copious amounts of wiring visible now. Though I am not feeling too hot, so I may have to wait until a day where I feel alright before I decide to treck up to Fremont to pick it up.

Might I suggest joining a Mustang club in your area? Depending on the members, it will help you get the car going that much quicker. Also a good source of knowledge about your car or autos in general. Some of the more hands-on gear-head members could probably pitch in and help too.

That is a great idea. I'll have to find one around here and make them start working on the car for me. And of course to learn the tricks of the trade.

The VMOA (club that sponsored the show I got you to go to) is located in San Jose you know. I'm sure if you joined you could find tons of folk that would help out or at least give you some insight

Thanks Arin, why haven't you been talking to me on AIM, just trying to give everyone else your brilliance?

Job list for today:

Install seats.
Tinker with the timing to see if it's in check.

Neither of which I know how to do 100%. Thank God for dad's who have done this stuff before.

Big problem...

Ok so first thing I realised about my key was that it doesn't open the passenger door.

The second thing... that I found today... is that I don't exactly need it to turn on the car. Which I would assume is probably the worst thing that could happen.

Other things are just minor, like the car still not starting and so on and so forth. We'll figure it out.

Anyone think they could help me with any of em?

the 99+ don't even have key holes on the passenger side.

and the key not needing to be used to start the car is not a problem because no one else knows and it makes it easyer to you.

Haha, well that is true... Now I guess I just have to keep Arin away from this thread, and I should be in good shape.

It was just kinda funny cause my dad just reached through one of the wholes in the steering wheel while holding down the clutch and just turned the ignition while I was trying to throw him the keys and it started and we were both kinda hazy about the whole subject.

The only reason it's kinda a pain is because you also can't lock the driver's side door with it either. Just unlock. I thought that was really weird. Maybe if I have the key remade instead of using this copy would help... or is there a way to figure out which key you got and get a key from Ford for your set of locks? There must only be a certain number of different key's/lock's they made, right?
