yup 18 is green, 19 is purple.
I test without the airbag installed and I test with the airbag install. No difference.
Well I redid the whole 2nd harness just in case. Will test tonight but I doubt anything will be different.

BTW, when you measure resistance between those wires, you have no polarity.
Did you check the resistance reading from the audio switch all the way to the J#1. I can give the resistance reading that I wrote down. Brad agreed that they were correct. Brad also said that polarity was not an issue.
I dont know if you have the Sync hooked up, but I would diconnect it and concentrate on the buttons first.
My radio arrived at 4D-Tech but no one was their to sign for it, so they returned it back to Fedex. Brad is going to try to pick it tomorrow. My fault I did not notice the the agent marked down signature required, just my luck.

Yes I checked the resistance. But sure please provid those numbers. That will help.
I tried without the sync, again no joy. Im juat going to send it in cause according to Brad they don't work cause it needs programing. But I still would like to know what the resistance are for each button. If you have the resistance for the phone buttons as well please post that too.
Thanks Al

Shops that do the head program can choose and pick what to enable and disable. They can change the logo to ford,Lincoln and Mercury. They can also turn sw settings to the steering wheel audio control buttons etc. My IDS/VCM #66.8 and will not do that. Maybe I need to upgrade to a newer version.

Here are my results
#16 Blue and #17 Yellow
Idle no buttons pushed 1.109 -> mine 1.111
Telephone button pushed 119.6 -> mine 120.6
Speak button pushed 51.7 -> mine 52.7
#18 Purple and #19 Green
Idle no buttons pushed 1.109 -> mine 1.113
down button pushed 333.8 -> mine 335
Up button pushed 210.4 -> mine 212
Music button pushed 506 -> 508
Volume button pushed - 51.3 -> mine 52.5
Volume button pushed + 119.5 -> mine 120.4
It is slightly different then yours and pretty close. So I don't think I have them hooked up wrong. Or are the differences to different?

Readings are close enough, you should have no problem with those readings.
I spoke with Brad earlier, he said that my radio and Sync was working fine on the bench.
Big question is why not when Install it in the car.
AK suggested I look at position #7 on the J#1.

I even have come across some info on the rear view mirror camera system. It uses the J3 plug and shows using the #8 and #16 pins, for the camera. I found that on one of the F150 sites, and I think we can add this also, if anyone LATER, want's to attempt this feat. OH hell, let's get everyone's audio controls right first, then we can go on to the reverse camera into the Navigation radio head. lol

Hi AK
I guess I missunderstood. When I spoke to Brad he told me that all the controls and the microphone were working on the bench. I just have to figure out what is happening when I plug it into my harness. Can you obtain a pinout for a shaker500 8R3T-18C815-HD. I can obtain asbuilt data from ford but not pinouts. I think that something in my harness is blocking the microphone.
BTW the 227 codes that VGM and I were discussing are the correct codes for the navigation radio with bluetooth.
Thanks Al

That is most likely correct, what 4D was saying. I have to disagree with him on one instance. WE don't have a previous factory microphone installed, only what comes with and inside the 14D212 kit. This works with the pad, and will work with the steering wheel switch, once the module is programmed to work correctly. Not before. I couldn't get my microphone controls to work all the time, (only occasionally) until I switched out the module with a programmed used unit and everything came to life then. Not just parts and pieces, everything worked then. If I had another spare module, I'd send it for you to try. You'd be surprised how, a preprogrammed unit, can make all the difference over a brand new module. The new module, I find, only has the minimum of operative abilities, before being actually programmed for what is wanted.
I don't see much use in the NEW module from the factory, without factory technical help. It is basically a "limp mode" module, until programmed for whatever you want it to do. Hope that explains why I used an programmed unit, from a programmed head. Made the microphone come to life. Bill

Im sending my Nav and sync unit to 4Dtech. Should I give a VIN to a mustang that had a Nav unit or my actual VIN number?
Oh and I asked about the reverse camera and Brad said there was not output for it.
His words;
So Im not sure the reverse camera will work.

His words;
Can't do anything about a rear camera as these units do not have any video input at all (never supported it).

I dont think that he need your vin to program you radio and sync. If he needs one give him navigation and bluetooth vin. He will not be able to change anything in the car other than the acm programming.
BTW I'm trying to findout why my microphone does not work in my car. Works on the bench with Brad ?.
I have to check my acm when I get a chance. Can't figure out why I have a ECU configuration error.

Did you ever post up your radio configurations? I have VGM's but don't think I have yours. Could you post?
I really appreciate YouTube or I wouldn't of tried doing this in the first place. I found plenty of information to back up my ideas, so I went for it.
The Milan video I posted here, showed his working with a used module, where it wouldn't before. Made me try it and I'm glad I did,

Maybe not, but I did find wiring for an 09 F150 with Job 2 head usage, so I thought it might be fun to check later. I thought it might work, since some have "line-in" capability turned on. I have that on my head, and it plays her Ipod, and a load of other things. I still think I'm going to check it out just for grins.
If you have to use a VIN, use the one from the 2009 Mustang navigation pdf. If you use particular serial number, and ask for the audio/radio controls (16,17,18,19) to function, should work. Also enable microphone, subwoofer, and what ever else you want, (maybe add later--???--lol). Have the "line In" function enabled, if it isn't already.

AK,
This the configuration of a 2009 Mustang with Nav,sirius and bluetooth.
(VIN#ZVHT82H595114178)
ACM 727-01-01****0848****DC7B****E6BD
ACM 727-01-02****2040****91
ACM 727-02-01****1748
When I spoke to Brad he was discusing the line drive by the oem mirror. The 09s and later use amp for the system.
AK,I do not remember microphone enabled on the screen.
