Part of the difference you are seeing in the two photos are that the vents on the yellow car are painted flat black, including the lip/flange of the vent. On the KR photo the vents are color matched so appear smaller.

Going back and looking at the previous photos of the prototypes and scaling the photos, it does appear the TF hood's vents are slightly wider than the real KR. Stripe fitment will remain to be seen. I still want the hood and hope the stripes fit like on the KR......

 

My stripes are painted and I'll have to have the stripes painted on the Trufiber hood to match. My stripes are 10.5" wide w/ a 1.5" gap. My stripes may cut through the vents, but if they do oh well, I thik it will look good. It will require a lot of masking on the individual vents and will mean a little more labor, but it'll be worth it!!!!!!!

 

Hey Twisted when you met that Cubican guy did he show tell you he had an SS? Saw him at the Dallas Mustang show and he swore he had a GO SS in his garage. I knew it was BS, but oh well.

Knowing Pedro he was/is 1st on the list for the SS but I haven't talked to him in a couple of months, we do plan on seeing them after the 1st of the year when were in Frisco.

I know he was getting a GO GT500 and he is crazy enough to shell out the money for it and his wife is sweet enough to say honey go for it so it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.

Has anyone heard if the hoods are in yet?

 

I talked to Phil the middle of last week and he said he expected them by the end of the week and they were going to actually test fit the first batch of hoods on a mustang (hopefully today - Saturday) just to make sure they were ok. He was going to box the hoods back up and ship them.

 

Very eager to see some finished products... all the prelim pics look amazing. I'm still in the market for an OEM GT500 hood if any of you are getting rid of yours.

 

I see that BMC finally has thier web site set up to accept orders for this hood rather than mailing in a deposit check. I placed an order for the hood so I hope they are available to ship sometime soon. The price was $799 plus $120 shipping. Is that the same as what others were quoted on this hood? Any info from Trufiber or BMC as to when they might ship?

I have never done business with BMC has anyone else? Will the hood ship from Trufiber or BMC?

the car is nice.. but the hood is more of an SS hood than a KR..
i don't like the lines on the front vents, or the recessed black vents on the back.

 

The rear vents are not recessed, they are flush with the hood. I think it's just the black color that makes them seem that way.

His hood is actually the Trufiber prototype hood that has been posted in this thread in the past. He got his hands on it before the production model hoods even got shipped to the US.

Here are a few pics before he painted it.

 

Mine is being shipped from Trufiber on Monday. I may have it as early as next Friday. Phil at trufiber sent me pics of it being test fitted on a Mustang. It looked good.
