Phil,

My stock Shelby hood is in a crate, packed in all sorts of foam packing and bubblewrap awaiting shipment to you. I hope it helps you all out. Let me know when you get it. Hopefully it arrives soon and in perfect condition.

BTW, if you haven't been following this other thread, BMC Extreme Customs has a special on this month that was spearheaded by TMS member davids2toys as a group buy. A $200 (refundable) deposit will get you 15% off the GT500 hood in January. If you don't have a calculator handy, that's between $637.50 and $750.00

You can also get 15% off the GT-S & GTS-2 ($500), or GTR and 3" Cowl Heat Extraction hoods ($425.00):

I live overseas and im afraid the hood will be affected during the shipment. Dont want to pay 900 $ and get it in a bad condition.
Is shipping inside the states by air or land? cuz from what i've heard air shipping can do u bad.

I'd consider the deposit thing but the web site has no provisions for the GT500 hood. Just an instruction to send a money order to mailing address. The transaction needs to be done online with an available payment or cc service so there is some recourse for this transaction. If BMC gets thier act together, I'd participate but this 'send us some cash and then hope a package shows up next year' thing stinks.

Well guys, I shipped my stock GT500 hood to Phil a few days ago and it should be there Friday (Oct. 5th). Hopefully it will help them get the final touches just right on the hood so they can start shipping them in December. I thought the prototype looked great, but evidently Trufiber wasn't totally happy with it. They are true professionals and are going to give us a great product. I can't wait til December gets here.

that's international shipping for ya.

i paid $1100 USD to have my Shelby CS6 hood shipped from Shelby - Vegas to me in Dubai.
a week later the hood showed up, cracked in 3 places.. and nobody took responsibility even though it's insured.
had to fix it myself, but it came out good as new.

Wow, $750 - $900 is a little bit more than I thought I would have to pay for this hood. I hope this hood will require very little or no prepwork when it's goes up for sale...especially if it goes upward of $900. If I get this hood, I plan to take it to the local Ford dealership for fit and paint, so that would be of the utmost importance to me if I'm able to get this hood.

Must say I like what I see so far. Can't wait to see the finished product in all it's glory.

Any idea on the ballpark hardware cost for the GT500 nose conversion to make the KR hood work?

I honestly can't remember what mine was. The price has come down on most of the parts. Get with KC, he can give you the exact price.

Hey just talked to Phil at Trufiber. He said the updated prototype is on it's way to him as we speak. He said he will test-fit the hood and if all is good they go into full production. Hopefully the test fit goes well and we will have hoods soon

Looks like prototype pictures are now available. Price will be $800 plus $120 shipping. Looks HOT. Be advised this will only work with a GT500 front fascia.
