I have heard a few rumors lately that Shelby is partnering with Vortech to produce a Shelby authorized Vortech supercharged V6 Mustang. I don't have any further details on the project but I was wondering if anyone else had been hearing the same or similar rumors.
At this point, it is likely just conjecture but it would be an interesting development if it were to come to fruition.

Please keep us posted! That would be the legitamcy that we need to finally stop all the conjecture!! For Shelby to do something with the 05+ V6, would mean the car is a winner even in his eyes.. Please keep us posted!!

Innnnnteresting.....
I'd like to see this. Shelby is known for offering multiple performance levels in his vehicles (GT350/GT500, 289 Cobra/427 Cobra), etc. and road racing was always the reason he built cars. A V6 mustang, with a supercharger and a well tuned suspension would fit nicely into his list of projects imho

If this does come to pass, this is very exciting.. To actually be an owner of the first Mustang V6 which was glorious enough to dawn the Shelby name!! :worship:

I had doubts because when people think Shelby, they don't think V6. They think V8 muscle cars that make rediculous horsepower. No offense to the V6 guys here.

This just gives gives credence to the fact that this V6 has great potential !! Also its a very smart business move. It will give the people who don't have the huge $$$ to still own a Shelby Mustang.
What will be really funny is if this V6 pushes out more HP than the current GT. That will REALLY PO the GT crowd who have been V6 bashing all this time !!

I would agree the HP level for the 4.0L V6 with a Vortech SC will exceed 300 HP. Vortech indicates on their website that the old 3.8L made 278 HP with no other modifications so 300 HP out of the 4.0L should be easily obtainable.

Wow....this was a pretty well kept secret then, huh. Probably the best kept secret concerning the new mustang. Maybe because no one ever would think it to be true!! Anyway...I"m excited, Really, the only thing that turns me away from a V6 is that it doesnt come with dual exaust. So...If Shelby wants to give me dual exaust, S/C, Posi, and six speed??? under 30K?? I'll take mine in white please.

I started my relentless pursuit of credibility with the 05 V6 from the very first day I got it.. I have tried to tell everyone, and convince them time and time again, that this is no ordinary V6 Mustang.. In fact as far as Mustangs go, this car stock is on par with some of the greatest Mustangs...
This in a nutshell is some how confirmation to me, and all of by die-hard V6 buddies, that it is not an illusion to the realized potential to the car, and what it is actually capable of becoming..
For the record, I predict the the 07 Shelby V6 Mustang will be given about 375 to 400RWHP, on the high side, and 350RWHP on the low side..
But I must also stress, that just bringing the stock HP up to 300RWHP will be certainley appreciated...!

Thanks for the confirmation, and thanks for showing everyone here that a Mustang, whether its a V6, or a V8 should be respected first and foremost because its a Mustang! You have obviously takin in the 05+ V6, and against the more widley popular opinion, decided to even acknowledge that we exist, by taking the time to confirm this info for us.. Thank you very much...

Lets all keep up the hard work, and determination, and remember never bow down to anyone cause your car is a V6.. Keep your head up, and drive with pride.. Congratulations, your the owners of the very first V6 Mustang in history, glorious enough to be takin in By the man himself! The Shelby V6 Mustang will be our new watermark we all shoot for.. All we need now are the numbers... If its 400RWHP, we will have to wait and see, how Shelby would equip his car to handle this amount.. If its less, it does'nt mean anything negetive towards the 05+ V6, its propbably so he doesnt hurt the feelings of the V8 Mustang guys! These guys have alot of pride, which is good, but we must tiptoe around them so their feelings are not so bruised! LOL!!
