Just got back from custom tune..
100 jets were used bottle pressure was 980-1020psi

This was on a superflow dyno.

Peak HP: 368.9hp 335.8trq @ 5830rpm
Peak TRQ: 332.6hp 405.8trq @ 4305rpm
A/F was flat @ 11.8

The tune was on the safe side of things, will probably go a bit more agressive when we find plugs.

Someone mentioned they had colder plugs already. Do you have a part no. or a website you could point me to.

Thanks again for all the feedback

The purge was mounted in that location, i can see the plume and stop purging when it's all nitrous. So it serves a purpose, hardly rice IMO. To each their own
Not unlike the monsters in the Pro Mod class either!! A classic muscle car body style, running low 6's in the 1/4-mi, and purging at the windshield is a long way from rice, too!!

Congrats on the install... looks schweet!

I still like the idea of the purges shooting up at the hood pin locations. You get to see it, and it would look like your stang is exhaling and ready to take off.

I won't be installing nitrous for a while, so somebody else with hood pins do this so I can see what it'll look like.

BAH poor track prep has done me in.
Pro Street car dumped oil all over the track.
Waited 2 hrs for clean up...
Got 1 run on the bottle in. Spun through all the gears.

RT 1.2380 (fell asleep)
60ft - 1.8451
330ft - 5.3279
1/8 ET - 8.1529
1/8 MPH - 87.04
1/4 ET - 12.6081
1/4 MPH - 111.08MPH

Was kind of nervous hitting the bottle for the first time. Will improve I'm sure.

Wow, spinning with the M/T drag radials. Not a bad time though for your first run with it. And you know it's going to get better.

Thanks again for the tips and pics.

I have ordered the Zex nitrous kit for my 05 Mustang as well. In addition I ordered a Zex remote bottle opener, Zex purge kit and Autometer Cobalt series nitrous pressure gauge. This will be my first nitrous install and I want to be safe, so no experimenting for me. I will only be using a 75 HP shot so I shouldn't need colder plugs or any fuel system supply modifications. Just a good safe Custom Tune. I have read every post on other's installations and every piece of literature on Zex website. I am really impressed with most installations including the one that started this post. Perhaps someone can tell me if a bottle warmer is necessary in FL?? Also, please forgive my ignorance, but where are your (4) switches mounted? I'm sure those that have already seen or done installations will recognize the location - but I don't. Please explain or take 1 more picture (less closeup detail) that shows me the location.

PS: I will be mounting my nitrous bottle in the spare tire location as I don't really want the bottle to be obvious. Wife has a nasty habit of asking too many questions. Sure hope she never has a flat.

Unless you expect the outside temperatures to hold the bottle temp at about 98* when using the nitrous I suggest you get a bottle warmer. I am a resident of nitrous knowledge. :P

Dan thank you very much - you just answered my question. The answer I was looking for is 98 degrees. Yes a bottle warmer will be necessary even if FL if that is the desired temperature to maintain.

Have you seen what could be considered obvious? If the seats are down that is. There is a bit of custom work involved but the trunk remains with as much function as it once had. Even the spare tire can snug back in position beneath the new trunk floor.

Even though the pics dont show it very well, the billet aluminum bracket and the blow bown tube have been polished to a high luster. Car show coming up on Saturday...

Nice looking job Dan! Unfortunately, I'm afraid for my application the wife would notice that rather large object in her trunk.

One more question. Does my Autometer Nitrous pressure gauge have to be at the bottle or can it be connected at the nitrous inlet on the management system under the hood? Trying to prevent having to run another harness all the way to the rear of the vehicle. Will already have to run the harnesses for the bottle warmer and remote bottle valve opener as it is.

nitrous switch panel is in the center console.
Lift the lid.. and top corner closest to driver.

Yes, bottle warmer is a good idea.

You can mount the Nitrous Pressure Gauge Sender anywhere prior to the solenoid or managment box and still get an accurate reading of the system's "health". This would be your heads up gauge. I have actually been thinking about putting one out on the hood just to the side of my fuel pressure gauge but I dont feel like cluttering the engine compartment with much more stainless steel braided hosing untill I get an aftermarket fuel rail.

I do also suggest a flow through cheapy gauge installed on the bottle.

Also, if you want to hide the bottle I suggest you get a gym bag and wrap that sucker up. Toss in a sweaty shirt or two for good measure.
