Well i'm only getting 12 mpg average in my 05 GT automatic.

I got a few mods:

3.90 Gears
JLT CAI with 91 octane SCT tune.

I drive quite aggressively and stomp on it whenever I can - especially at red lights if i'm at the front

I don't drive like a sissy that's for sure.

I use 91 octane which is the highest I can practically get in CA.

Anhow, I'm averagin 12 mpg.

I do mostly city driving.

Does 12mpg sound normal for my driving pattern?

Most likely. The gears + stomping it + auto = recipe for not the best mileage in the world. The way I look at it is I get around 20 in town, 26-30 highway, if I stomped it all the time im sure mine would be much lower too.

That's where I live (L.A.).

The traffic here is such **** ! :bang:

You've got 8 lane highways like the 405 that are sometimes like parking lots.

How many mpg does a Porsche or Vette get under similar conditions?

Seems like with all the modern technology, that our MPGs should be at least 18 even if we drive it like we stole it - which we do

I drive a Lincoln LS V8. I get 9 miles a gallon in downtown Seoul. Same tranny and 3.58 rearend. I can get 25 mpg on the highway at 65 so I know my car isn't defective. I wouldn't feel bad abound 12 mpg with a V8 and agressive driving.

I was at 12.2 for the longest time, until I reflashed with standard 87 diablo tune, jumped to 13.4 currently. Same style of driving as above, all city, jumping on it frequently.

Traffic in Seoul.........it has been 15 years since I drove there and it was UGLY then.

I am in Tampa - drive about 50% city and 50% freeway and average right around 18.8. When on the highway I've gotten as high as 24, but never anywhere near that 26-30 range someone else mentioned. Maybe if it were a long downhill and I coasted ALOT!!!

i get 16.4 with mine. i do run it hard. i thought that califonia makes the gas co. airate te fuel and add all of the junk to help improve the envoirment. thus giving you your sh-ty gas milage.

Seems like CA not only gets cr@appy gas but it's hard to get 93 octane - I can only find 91 octane.

The lowest I've averaged is 14-15 mpg in the city, and I drive it hard all the time. Of course, I still have the stock gears.

MTBE... kills fish AND gas mileage.

When I moved from California to Oregon, my full size Blazer with a 5.7 EFI went from 8 mpg to 12 mpg.

I only have 450 miles on mine so far and I'm averaging 18.4. I'm getting on it constantly too. Can't help but think it'll only get better the more miles I get on her.

Ihave an auto and have never gotten worse than 17, and that was my first tank. I generally average 20-21 and get on it frequently. At least until I got my 70 in a 45 on Monday.
