The fact is I ran 12.13 early in the season with a slipping RPS, a best of 12.7 with the SPEC and now 12.03 with a fresh RPS back in the car.
The car was just plain frustrating at the track with the SPEC, felt like a completely different animal.

Well my new best 1/4 at FFW was a 10.31 @ 130 but I did that on a 6.58 1/8 mile. I went to Irwindale last night as was in the high 6.40's with a best of 6.46 @ 104. I also got a new best 60' of 1.41!!
Not bad for a daily driver....lol

Thanks. The first slip is from the king of the hill. I probably would have run really good on that pass but I lifted at the end (see mph)
Even though I lifted, I still broke out by a darn .008!!
Bonehead move as I had him covered off the tree and could have braked it but I thought lifting would be enough but obviously not..

Congrats Mark! .008 is as close as it gets. Thats what I love about the bracket race! Over the summer I took first place at the Mid America Shelby meet here in Tulsa by about that same margin of victory. Caught my opponent sleeping at the tree for the win. Very close race!
Again Congrats on the time Very cool for a DD.

Boy the guy in the right lane broke out huge! I wonder if they put in the correct dial in at the tower?

alright sooo someone tell me what u think. NOTE: THIS WAS MY 1st TIME EVER AT THE DRAG STRIP. i ran twice on stock tires with my race tune and jlt intake and slp's. my 1st run i ran a 13.9 @ 104 with a reaction time of .043 and a 60' of 2.53. my second run was a 13.816 @ 104.55 with a reaction time of .084 and a 60' of 2.35. i know the car is capable of running faster i lost to a ls2 GTO who ran a 13.49
another thing....i was shifting at 6500 rpms...i havent gotten it dyno'd sooo im not sure when EXACTLY to shift like what would be the best shift points....
my time slips r upstairs...anyway we ran at raceway park in nj i think a few people from the forums were there....vortec windveil blue GT and a black procharged GT...

Shift points sound ok, maybe a little lower at 6300.

I ran 12.83 also, without the gears, cmdp's, and DS. So I see at least a .2 drop for you in the future!

I don't have a scanner, but I've listed my best run for 1/4 mile ET from the 07 summer racing season below. I've run higher MPH on other runs, up to 102.92, but my best ET came at a lower than normal MPH oddly enough.
Car weighs 3,480 with 1/4 tank gas & the spare/jack removed (3,650 with me aboard). Only mods on this run were: 4.10 gears, 3800 rpm stall converter, Predator canned 93 octane tune, and BFG 275/40/17 drag radials with 27 psi. Stock air box/filter, stock exhaust, etc.
Track is Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA (formerly known as Seattle Int'l Raceway). Track elevation is only 250' above sea level, but the weather often conspires to push up the Density Altitude and slow us down.
Best 1/4 mile ET (August 24th, 2007)...
0.076 R/T
1.833 60'
5.424 330'
8.444 1/8 mile ET
81.15 1/8 mile MPH
11.066 1000'
13.280 1/4 mile ET
101.92 1/4 mile MPH
Density Altitude during this run was 1345' above sea level (hot humid day in the middle of summer), so NHRA corrected 1/4 mile numbers would have been 13.090 @ 103.40 mph for this pass.

Brian great times! Good Reaction time! I bet you can get that 60' down a bit more if you lower the air pressure in thise DR's to around 18 lbs.

Thanks for the kudos on the reaction time. I've been racing at the same dragstrip for 25 seasons and have had a lot of practice. I always cut lights in the .0's and .1's. Never in the .200's or higher - ever. And, finally this season, I cut my first ever perfect light (.000) which the announcer was nice enough to annouce as it was the only one of that particular event. I've won money and trophies at our local track, but last season I didn't win a thing (only went to test 'n' tune sessions, not any money events).

Interesting on the tire pressure. For me 18 lbs is the sweet spot for my stick car. Sounds like you have a good plan for next year.
