Last test and tune of the year for me...
Only got two runs (both the best of the year)here they are.
1st run after driving 1hr 20 min there

2nd run (hour later)

Clutch bit the dust..after this run...(maybe why my 60' times are up to snuff)
But at least I got into the 12's for the first time. Track was too cold track temp was 51 Air temp was 46.

Nice run!!!!!! with 1.697 60' you must be pulling to fronts off the ground!
How much air pressure you running in your M&H's?
what RPM are you launching at?

Thanks. You say your clutch is toast? How many miles? How many 1/4 runs?
21,000 miles, about 25 runs down the strip, 2 days of road course racing and still seems fine.
I got my fingers crossed, lol.

hum.. I ran 18lbs today....and "only" 4000 off the line.... And still the clutch went up in smoke.
How do you like the RPS clutch you have?
I have been noticing some slippage when going into 4th for about a month.

I put in the 10.5" RPS clutch and Cynrg flywheel and it worked great.
As my power level increased I had to start slipping it out of the whole to get decent 60 foots. I put about 150 runs on that clutch. One night, against my better judgement I hotlapped 4 times slipping it hard out of the whole all 4 times. Next time I was at the track It was slipping. Granted I was still pulling high 1.6 60's with it, but it was slipping all the same. After teardown I found that I warped the plates in the flywheel. I then decided to see how great these SPEC clutches work. STG 2 with alum flywheel. I immediately noticed the car was a bit sluggish, the pedal pressure was a little lighter than the RPS, I could not control my launches with the SPEC, on or off at launch RPM and speed shifting 1-2 was not happenning.(YES IT WAS PROPERLY BLED)
Had the Cynrg flywheel rebuilt by RPS (125.00) like new. Put an exact replacement clutch and pressure plate from RPS back in. The car is back to normal. The RPS 10.5 set up is 3.5lbs lighter than the SPEC. I had a best of 12.7 with the SPEC-VS the 12.03 with the RPS, similiar weather and track conditions. Not knocking SPEC, but for my mods and driving technique the RPS is my choice by far.

Wow....the only difference between your 12.7 and 12.03 was the clutch. I've felt my stock clutch wasn't right for a long time but .7; boy would that validate my feelings.
Thanks for the info...I was looking at clutches all night last night, there are so many choices out there... I like the DFX centerforce clutch and I really like the Cynrg flywheeel design. I will look closer at the RPS now though...
While I was happy to finally get into the 12's I feel as though it has more in it...some tune, some setup and some (maybe more) from the clutch.
