Yep its a stick.
Good question with the time for the auto. Perhaps if the thread was updated with an auto vs. stick time sheet you could get your answer.
It sounds like if your like me then once you get the speed bug you can't stop. I say go ahead with some minor mods like the CAI with tunes and mabey gears. I bet this could get you close to the 12 sec. mark.

How does that stuff work with warranty? I got the 100K extended thrown in with the deal I got on the car, and I'd hate to mess it up, especially with some of the probs I've had with this car. I modded the '01 to the point where I didn't even bother trying for warranty work, and I don't wanna go thru that again. That's why I ended up building a race-only car. You're right.....getting started on modding is a slippery slope, and the faster you go down the slope, the more money it takes!

Well as far as the CAI kit goes you would have to remove it and reinstall your factory tune if you have to take the car in for work. Gears are a different story. I've read on the forum that if you have them installed at your dealer your ok. But you will have to modify your speedo with a SCT X-Cal or a Diablosport tuner. You could also buy one of the drag or performance packs from FRPP and have the dealer install it. Each dealer is different so it might be a good idea to research your local dealers and pick one that is mod friendly. There are some that won't care so much and others that will hate you. Remember you dont have to take your car back to the place of purchase for warranty work.

Yeah, I had my dealer put the 4.10s in my '01.....they did it for just $200, too. I just don't want to get into the whole routine, though. If I decide to do something like that, I'll probably just get another Fox car and go all out. This car is just too nice a driver as it is, and it's got plenty of power for a commuter car. For now, anyway!

Yeah I have ideas about buying another fox body myself and making it a drag car. I had a 92 coupe that was running in the mid 12's on the motor before buying the 06. It sure was fun!

This was my first time at Holt, first 1/8th, first time with the KB, and only second time with the Mustang at the track.

Best run:

60ft 2.09s
330 5.41s
1/8ET 8.1458s
MPH 90.39

Street radials... suck.

Just got back to the track last night after Brenspeed tune & CAI...

13.706 @ 103.67

Picked up just over 2mph and 4 tenths over stock

I was trapping consistently in the 103.5mph range, I think there might be a few more tenths left in her if I get a little more traction. I was cutting 2.2 60's *shrug*

EDIT: pics added:

EDIT EDIT: Added images as attachments.

Okay, got a chance to run the 07 GT, me and a buddy ran the car at Bud's Creek today, temp was in the middle 70's to low 80's. Since the track was rented we really didn't worry about reaction times, it was more a test & tune.

My car is bone stock with an M5 and 28" polished bullitts, shaker 500, heated seats, IUP, side airbags, and 3.55 rear.

We used similar driving techniques (although he is way better at launching the car I must admit ) Launch @ 2500 to 2800 rpm, feathering the clutch for a a little spin so it wouldn't bog out of the hole, then out of the clutch and hold the gas to the floor. Shifts were around 6,000 rpm on the factory tach with the gas held to the floor and slightly depressing the clutch just enough to disengage the shifter.

16 runs today and one bad shift going from 3rd to 4th that accidently put the trans in 2nd, car ran flawlessly all day though.

My best time
60' : 2.223
330: 5.935
1/8: 9.028
MPH: 79.54
1000: 11.672
1/4: 13.893
mph: 101.27
Race Wgt: 3820 lbs w/ 1/2 tank of gas.
Tire Pressure: 30 psi (stock KDWS 235/50R18)

My bud's best time
60': 2.112
330: 5.812
1/8: 8.865
MPH: 80.66
1000': 11.471
1/4: 13.649
MPH: 103.80
Race Wgt: 3665 w/ 1/2 tank of gas.
Tire Pressure: 30 psi (stock KDWS 235/50R18)

Good runs, on the stock tune and a bone stock car you should be able to go through the traps in third gear and this will give you a better elapsed time. Shifting to fourth gear just before the finish may have slowed you down a .1 second or more.

Awesome runs, That thing is moving real good. Once you install those 4.10 gears and udp's, you will shave another .3-.4 off your et's for sure. I would love to have an auto car just for track purpose, they make drag racing alot easier

Next time I go, I think I will give that a try and hold 3rd. Are you right on the rev limiter when you cross the line?
