The GT Performance Timeslip Thread
@MSGTGT,
Thanks for the props. What kind of tires are you running? I would definitely ditch the stock LCA's if you havent done so already. You can get a good set for under $150 bucks and its a great mod. That and some good tires should net you a high 1.xx 60ft. General rule is each 10th off the 60ft is 2/10ths off the top end.

No problem. Anyone who can run 10's has got to be doing something right. As far as tires and wheels go..I'm running with American Racing Torq Thrust 18 X 9 wheels and 255/45 R18 BF Goodrich G-Force KDW 2 tires. They were a big change over those stock wheels and tires! But...I need to find some way to lower that 60' time. That seems to be the best advice I've received and everyone seems to agree. Thanks again for the advice.
I run the old stock V6 16inch rims when I race. ugly as hell but they get the job done. I know the GT guys cant use the v6 16's on the front due to the brakes, but you can pick up a set for the rears and put some mt et streets on them. They are less rotatonal weight and cheap wheels for drag racing.
Keep us posted.
**** dude, those 18's got to be killing you via rotational weight. If you still have your stock 17's I would get those and put some MT ET streets on them. What was your rear and front tire pressure when you ran. Your front should be max tire press to minimize resistance and rears should be in the 20's, but it varies depending on how much pressure your tires can take.

By the way...my wife and I just returned from a vacation in DC last week. Great place, had a blast...got to see all those sites that I have only seen on TV. We also went to Alexandria...it was also really nice...but it is darn HOT by you right now.
That is something I did not think about...but it makes sense. I still have the stock 17" aluminum wheels. I could put some new rubber on those for track day. Or just use those stock wheels and tires for the fronts and get some cheap wheels and put some MT's on the back. Good advice.

My friend scott runs a GT, he takes off his DD bullets and puts on his stockers for thet rack, 17s all the way around and runs DR's on the rear. Go to summit racing and get a set of MT ET streets for the rears and net yourself some good et's. I run my MT ET streets at around 15psi on the rears and launch the car at high rpms. They will get you there. Though the stock lca's are rubber, I suggest you replace them at the same time.
yes, those stock lca's are a peice of JUNK! id you get urself a pair of lca's and maybe a uca, you will launch alot harder and get your 60ft's down, thus lower et's....
steeda has control arms(good ones), you can look, just look under the control arms section, heres the link....

Well new best time for me this weekend Temp was about 85 deg
60' 2.07
1/8 et 8.683
1/8 mph 81.64
Added the BMR reloc brackets and my 60' dropped from 2.15 to 2.05 Still stock gears and street tires.
Just ordered spyder shaft, wheels and slicks and line loc....cant wait to try them out. looking to get gears in a week or so as well.
So are gears going to help my mph much? I'm going from stock to 4.30's? Hoping to see low 8's or even high 7's

Bone stock 2004 Mach1, Auto
Nothing wrong with those times at all. I was impressed those mach1's are fast cars. I know you were hoping for more but your leaving alot of time at the start with that 2.22 60ft time. If you had better traction you would have gotten into the 8's for sure.
I broke my 1/8th cherry this weekend. '07 GT manual 5 speed, stock 17" pirellis. Bone stock. Here's my best run of the day. I broke out, but what a blast. Launching at 2,000 rpm with traction issues. This winter that will be solved.
