CAI survey, please read
Why is everyone so excited about this CAI, did I miss something? Grantelli already has one that can do 30HP without a tune.
Can some help clue me in, so I don't have to read 14 pages of posts, yes lazy, lol

So Im guessing the "new" MAF sensor is your tune and works with your PCM to give it the proper reading much like a tuner would tweak it to adhere to the bigger tubing and added Air flow? To to say its a CAI that made 30hp without a tune is a stretch I would think...its tune is the altered MAF sensor...no?

You are exactly right. The MAF's electronics are resized to adjust the airflow readings to what the PCM expects. As such, it can handle the added airflow without a tune.
See, the most basic function of a tune is to adjust what is called the MAF transfer function. By adjusting the MAF transfer function, you are basically taking the voltage scale of the sensor and re-adjusting it so that the PCM knows the correct amount of air that a MAF sensor is reading due to the larger opening and greater airflows.
What I am gathering is that the GMS intake basically does what the old Fox MAF's did... instead of updating the computer for the airflow, they just alter the signal that the MAF sends. It's really two ways of skinning the same cat. One way is not more correct than the other, it's just a different way of doing it.
The upside of that method, at least for GMS, is that they can sell their intake as a "No Tune" intake and eliminates the need for the buyer to have a flash tuner, making it cheaper overall ( but still more costly than something like a K&N or an AEM Bruteforce), while still giving some of the benefits of the tuned intakes. The downside is however, they loose all the other enhancements that the tuners make to the PCM files. No timing adjustments, no taking the stock AFR's from 12.4 to something more reasonable for an NA car, no shift adjustments for automatics.. none of this. Plus, if you ever do another mod that needs a tune, your right back where you started with the need for a flash tuner.
In my opinion, while GMS makes some quality parts, their intake is not one I personally would use. Like many intakes on the market, it seems like at some level there is always a compromise that sacrifices some torque for horsepower production. Ken's intake it exactly what I have been looking for in an intake since I got the car... a no compromises intake designed with the idea of torque being the main goal. Torque is what makes a car fun to drive.. torque hammers the car out of a turn, squats the rear end down on a hard launch and pushes you back in the seat, and lets you put a hole shot on the car your lined up next to and gives you time to laugh at the guy next to you as he plays catch up... Horsepower just sells parts and cars to the masses...
Very well put... I think you made the right decision
Thanks everyone. Sorry about the delays on the updates. Unfortunately I didn't get the directions together and didn't want to hold up shipment. I'm going to get them together today and post them online for you guys. But for most people you probably won't need directions anyway. Just be sure the MAF is pointed in the right direction. You can see this on our homepage. Everything else should be self explanatory.
Please post or send me pics after you guys get them installed!
Right now demand seems to be high and we are getting close to selling the first 20. So if you are still thinking about it, order now. I think we are up to 14 or 15.

Well guys I did it and all I can say is Wow this is a new car.
Ken the install went fairly smooth no instructions needed but I can see it helping someone that is doing this for the first time. It took about an hour taking my time
The only snag was the body clip on the stock filter box is riveted on so I could not use it to attach the heat shield on the body. stay tuned
Ken's tune has really opened up the car, I have pictures but I cant seem to load the attachments I emailed them to you Ken..
Well got to go I need to keep driving this thing, It's awesome
