I have a question. I have read through all of this thread (i think) and I didn't see what I was looking for. Are the FRPP GTA's louder than flowmasters? (or possibly GTA's with the FRPP X pipe) I currently have flows and I want something a little louder but not insane loud. It is really hard to tell from the sound clips.

i've had GTA's and heard cars with flowmasters, I think the flows are a little louder. I recently switched to MACs and like those the best, very deep old-school sound because it's a chambered muffler like the flowmasters, but a decent amount louder.

Im also running that setup . A few weeks ago I swapped out my comp cats for my O/R pipes and ran that up until today. I put my cats back on today because I have an inspection tommorow, and wow, what a difference. It seems so much quieter now, a little too quiet. I didnt realize what a difference the cats made. Right after the inspection, the o/r pipes are going back on, and staying on.

Is it not too Raspy? I heard a friend with O/R X and Bassani BX axleback and it sounded like SHHHIT...It was sooo raspy it didn't even have much tone - but the tone it did have was horrible!

Thanks for the info. I actually got to hear a shelby gt yesterday. I agree the FRPP GTA's with the FRPP X pipe is not any louder just different sounding (did sound really good though). I am after something just a little louder than the flows. Just not sure what to get. I don't want to deal with much drone thats why i was thinking about the GTA's.

Yeah no Drone, is either GTAs, Corsas or something that utilizes a mid muffler design (Custom or Pypes)

The BX axlebacks are chambered, so they probably are raspy, but the stingers are only a little raspy in the higher RPM's with O/R pipes which is fine by me. If it didnt have that raspiness, IMO, it would be the perfect exhaust for me.

Well heres mine, muffler delete with 3.5" tips and modified bullet mufflers welded behind the stock h-pipe. Scoll down a touch and you'll see the short clips.

First off, wrong thread, and this has been covered several times. Doesnt hurt to use the search feature.

Second, 3.31 is the standard, 3.55's are a $100 option.

Also the 3.55 on the 08 is a 300 dollar option.

And back to topic, I heard a clip of GTAs with a prochamber and it was really nice.

Hey guys, I have a question. I was shopping on American Muscles website and I saw the below info on 2007+ Mustangs. Is this true? Should I get one of those kits if I go with some Flowmasters for my 2008 GT that should be coming in a week or so?

Sometime during the mid-production run on 2007 Mustangs, Ford realized that they were loosing money on the intricate metal/rubber exhaust hanger they designed for the 2005+ Mustangs. Thus they switched over to a cheaper rubber only hanger system to attach the factory exhaust. Unfortunately, this system will ONLY work with factory exhaust and will not allow for installation of aftermarket exhaust.

Switching to the 2005 to mid-2007 style hangers solves this problem and will allow for installation of any 2005+ Exhaust System on late production 2007+. To install this exhaust system on a late production 2007+ Mustang, we offer you Pypes 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hangers available in the dropdown list below at a fraction of the cost of OEM replacement hangers from Ford!

What do you mean your GTAs "fell apart"?

I'm starting to hear some small resonance with my GTAs at around 60-70 mph. It seems to be coming from the passenger side only. It's not loud or annoying at all, but I don't remember them making that noise originally.

I wonder whether I should swap them for Stingers Sometimes I wish the GTAs were louder.

This sounds awesome. Would the FRPP X-pipe + stock cats sound much different than the Bassani catted X?

I'm considering replacing my GTAs with Stingers and I'm wondering how they would sound with the FRPP X-pipe.
