That's from Motor Trend's Strike Force comparison of tuned American Muscle. The Livernois Mustang has Kooks headers, catted X-pipe, and Corsa axle-backs. Sounds pretty wicked to me.

This is a question for you all that have the SLP Loudmouths. I installed my LM's a couple of days ago with my off-road h pipe....OMG it was insanely loud along with my FRPP shorty headers. Took my car to a friend's muffler shop and had them bolt in my stock cats. Man, did this sound better. When I drove it around for the evening is sounded great. Woke up this morning started the car and now they're quiet as the stock mufflers. I'm thinking there's an exhaust leak either at the header studs (ticking) or at where the catted pipe bolts up to the cat back pipes. I don't think one of the employees tightened things down good enough. Would this make the LM's sound quiet?

Exhaust question

I want a sound only a bit louder and deeper than stock, I was told the standard Magnaflow cat-back would be a good bet. I don't mind the polished steel replacing my stock tips. What do you think of the sound outside, and any drone issue on the inside? Thanks, Erik

I have the Magnaflow catbacks and they sound great. A little deeper than stock with an added growl when you get into it. Took it to the Outer Banks (500 miles round trip) and the drone wasn't too bad. A little louder when you go up hill as the engine works harder but not that bad. Got 26 mpg using the 93 tune.

sorry for just posting up but what are your guys opinions on the Coffin Muffler GT kit, and i would have gone with SLP loudmouths but it is just a tip welded to a peice of pipe and the inspection people down here would reject it as a legal muffler kit even though SLP says it's 50 state legal

You could always just bolt the stock ones back up when it comes time for inspection.

Most of the links I click are dead in this thread...

I think this thread should be dumped, and a new 2005+ Exhaust thread started. Lots of threads are screwey after the board migration.
