2011 GT or 2008 GT500
And at this time I can't justify an extra 20,000 for a GT500 (yeah, that's the difference up here)
I'll just wait for the ____ + skynet GT500/Cobra

Actually I'm waiting on at least 2013 before I get one....or maybe the next gen, depending on what the wind says

I'm going to go with a "no" on that one. I don't think all Mustangs will depreciate equally. The more optioned a car is, the more it will depreciate. But a $30k stripper going for $15k in 3 years? Not likely unless it's got 60k miles or more on it. On the other hand, if there are GTs that cheap in 3 years, I might have to find a mate for my V6.
.
'05s are still selling for better than $15k.

Like he said. My 2007 GT Deluxe went for $17,000 Wholesale. A Premium is worth about $800 more. NAV adds about $350 and CS about $900. My depreciation was more like 27% over 4 model years (From actual price). A GT500 lost about 39% over the same period (Buddy got $28,000 on his 2007 GT500 Trade In for a 2011 GT500).
That said if I was going to spend $38,000 it would be for the left over 2008 GT500.

What part of that disagrees with what I posted? It sounds to me like you're supporting what I wrote.
Unfortunately I have other areas to focus my energy and funding on right now, at least over the next 3 or 4 years.

GT500 all the way. The only reason I wouldn't do the 07-09 is because the 2010+ look 100x better IMO. eci is right, hand built motor, much more exclusive build, a lot of subtle changes that would cost you big money to do on a GT. It's worth the premium to maintain that exclusivity.
There is a big difference between a defective part and a weak part.
If you don't think 2011 5.0s are going to have serious quality issues, you've never owned a new Ford. Buying new cars makes you subject to all the crap work from the UAW.
The same guys that made my car will be making yours.

Really.... a "which is better section"? Wow. My vote goes for the GT500, and I can summarize why in two words- Superchared Shelby. Or you could hold out for the way cool and over priced 2012 Boss 302 (street version)- if it happens.
